A submarine capable of reaching deep into the sea

China plans to develop a submersible that will reach 11 kilometers in depth by 2020.

According to Liu Feng, general secretary of China Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association (COMRA), the association will focus on developing underwater deepwater exploration technology to promote sustainable ocean development.

In addition, COMRA plans to set up a National Deep Water Center in Qingdao, south of China, to monitor and collect marine samples.
