Excellent article, @n3bul4! I live in Florida, which provides residents a front row seat to the corruption of Big Sugar. It is heavily involved with state politics and offers all manner of perks and gifts (e.g., free trips for state legislators in private jets) under the guise of "economic development" and "bringing jobs to the state." If any candidate does or says anything to earn their ire, they are quick to dump millions of dollars into TV ads railing against that candidate.
