NASA Recognizes High School Student’s Research Project at Syracuse University
I'm am so happy and proud of one of my high school students! Hari Nanthakumar has been conducting research in my laboratory for over a year now. His work focuses on producing ultralight, super-durable materials from light-curable resins. His work gained honorable mention by NASA at the 2017 Intel Science and Engineering fair (ISEF). Hari published his work as lead author in the journal Results in Physics. One of my goals as a professor is for my research lab to provide a supportive, enriching environment for aspiring STEM students. And this is a great example of what can be achieved when a hard-working, self-initiating student thrives in this environment.
Hari's achievements were also highlight in the local Syracuse news: http://www.localsyr.com/news/cba-student-makes-important-scientific-breakthrough_20170814221645/789073472
