They Say That Blondes Are Dumb But Have More Fun... So Here's What I Did! ๐
Going blonde is like buying yourself a light bulb. - Heidi Klum
What an enlightenment!
One of the great benefits of being blonde is that with low expectations it's quite easy to surprise people all the time. Thanks to the stereotyped "dumb female blonde" you can actually play a perfectly scripted roll all the time and use the benefits of being underestimated whatever conversation you enter.
Now while that dumb blondie character has long time been a staple of Hollywood movies - just thinking about Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde or Alicia Silverstone in Clueless -, reality looks quite different.
I don't want to disappoint you, but according to science blondes tend to have an IQ above average. Woooot?

Debunking the myth
Human beings love stereotypes. It's so easy and comfortable to categorize people according to their physical appearance, why even complicate life and think a bit deeper?
Blondes are dumb, brunettes are smart. Period.
Well, not really.
Against the common belief that blondes are especially dumb, it's been scientifically proven that this is not the case. On the contrary, there's been a study from the NSL National Longitudinal Surveys according to that blondes statistically even tend to have an higher IQ than brunettes:
The surprising answer - at least given the prevalent stereotype - is that among white women, those reporting having blonde hair have the highest average IQ and the second-highest median, or midpoint, IQ. - Jay L. Zagorsky
So what do we do with our good old stereotypes then?
The shocking news: blondes are not as dumb as we thought...
Yet, isn't it more fun to slip into the silly role after all? Hmmmmm....
Yesterday I told my hair dresser that I wanted to be blonde again no matter what. How do you like the result?
It takes a smart brunette to play a dumb blonde. - Marilyn Monroe

So your saying... I would be smarter in summer with the blonde highlights??? ๐ค (I actually hate them but maybe I should start to like them now I'm aware of this fact ๐คฃ). The fun part is true, they always show up in summer and after every day on the water there are more highlights in the hair!
PS. Loving your new look!๐
Haha, so we're all smarter in summer, isn't that great?
I just started to love summer even more due to that fact, hahaha!
Thanks for the compliment ๐
Hehe yeah smarter, happier, more energetic. You made me change my opinion on being blonde in summer. Hooray for the blondes and the summer๐๐๐
Have you tried doing an IQ test before and after dyeing your hair? :D
Hahaha, great comment! I should've done that :-D
I'm fooled by blondes all the time!
The new hair colour and style looks great! :D
Me, too!!!! :-D
Thank you, Asher!
How's the Balearic beach life going?
:D!
Very good thank you, I've just been to the beach (again). The go-pro came with me yesterday so i could record a windy/wet 2 year anniversary post :D
The weather was a bit off yesterday and today it's gorgeous again!
Aaaaah it's your Steem Anniversary, how cool's that!!! :-)
Congratulations
Thank you Marly!
Haha. :xD

So you're smarter AND you have more fun! Doesn't get any better does it?
LOL - that's been the goal! Isn't life so easy sometimes :-))
Feels great to see you in my blog btw, thanks for stopping by and I hope life's treating you well.
I love this! I am blonde and have always battled that stereotype, I remember going for job interviews in the business world when I was young, even had a few say "little missy, let me tell you how things work" Boy did I show them lol Your hair looks amazing both ways :)
Haha, in Spain we're called seรฑorita which could be an appropriate translation of little missy - haha! It's a worldwide funny phenomena.
Thanks for stopping by, and thank you very much for your copliment @birdsinparadise :-)
Haha funny post and have fun @surfermarly!
I'm glad at least a couple of people understood the ironic part of the post, haha!
Thank you :-))
:)
Blondes people are also often cast as the evil characters, also. It just seems common in movies.
I need to try to get a phony German accent to appear more intelligent. Try that see how many you can convince that they should use crypto-currencies with a German accent on a Tuesday afternoon and repeat with an Alabama accent the week after. I imagine there would be a market difference.
I don't expect you to go through all of that trouble. I am just expressing my bias about people's biases based on accents. If someone who lives in the Northern U.S. wants to try it, I would be interested in reading the result.
Haha, do you want me to lend you my phony German accent? :-)
Honestly, I had never thought about the influence an accent might have in a sales talk. Probably it's because I have the German accent and everything always turned out great, lol
Why did the blonde get fired from her job at the M&M factory? Because she kept throwing away all the Wโs.
What did the blonde say when she found out she was pregnant? I hope it's mine.
What do you call 24 blondes in a cardboard box? A case of empties.
How do you get a blonde to laugh on Saturday?
Tell her a joke on Wednesday.
Why donโt blondes eat pickles?
Canโt get their heads in the jar.
Hahaha, that's definitely the best one on the list! :-D
Love it! Fantastic and statistics are correct. my wife is blonde and very intelligent. She keeps me on my toes for sure! Your hair looks great! Nice choice!
I love this!! I went blonde for a part I was playing and I had NEVER dyed my hair before and I love it! Since then it has been the best social experiment ever. It's amazing how by changing my hair and loving it has freaked out other people- I mean heaven forbid you love yourself no matter your hair colour! ;)
