I WISH I KNEW. FROM MARIJUANA TO TRAMADOL
I WISH I KNEW
It was a sunny Sunday and parent with children were found in the house of the lord, seeking his face and committing fervently to him. I noticed a good friend of mine was not in church that day and even the parents too. I also realized dullness among the youth that day and felt like something is wrong. After church i decided to ask around if anyone knew what was going on only to be told my best friend died two days ago. But the we have met many times and nothing shows he was sick so how come. Even church elders were not ready to give information on what caused his death. Wall they say have ears. Some curious youth among us already had information and it was circulating very fast. I was reliably informed he was into drugs like marijuana. Hahahaaaaaa!!! "this was a joke to me" i said openly. My future husband Kelvin was on drugs the whole time we met? But i know people who are smoking and still alive. I decided to tell the parents he was my boyfriend and i am shocked to hear, these image tarnishing claims coming from my friends. They had no option but to expose the real truth.
According to the mother, she realize her sons behavior has changed all of a sudden and he acts like a drug addict. Little did they know that their son was taking a new drug called "TRAMADOL", which research shows deadly in misuse. One night they were asleep when he started shouting in his room so they rushed him to the hospital but before they could reach the hospital their son was no more. They came back and to their amaze there were pills all over his room. they showed it to the pharmacist only to be informed was TRAMADOL. Hmmmm "I WISH I KNEW"
SENSITIZATION TO THE YOUTH
Drug abuse is becoming rampant, especially in our part of the world. In the past, you will see drug addicts hiding from society, by undertaking their activities underground . But with recent development you will see that youth openly smoke and misuse drugs with absolutely no fear. The recent development is the issue of Senior High School students misusing certain drugs like TRAMADOL as a way to boost strength and relieve pain shows the extent to wish rot of drug abuse have gotten to in Ghana. Sometime i ask my self how do these drugs reach teens? What are the stakeholders, family, church ,society, government, and mass media doing in relation to curbing Drug abuse in society? Parents of late are shirking their responsibilities and constantly hoping that other stakeholder will come in to help. I strongly believe it is hard time, parent spent quality time with teens sensitizing them on the need to avoid misuse of certain drugs. In some home parents don't even spend time to understand the physiological needs of their children. They will never keep a good monitoring on the kind of company their wards are keeping. Some parents are even afraid to talk to their children on certain behaviors they are putting up. The society indeed have failed many of us, because stakeholders of our society see no need to put up measures to stop menaces in relation to drug abuse, they will always put blame on some failed institutions. As for churches i wont say much, but honestly some churches don't have any sensitization programs on drug abuse at all. Pastors and stakeholders of churches are rather interested in prosperity messages and how to raise more fund from members. It is time SIN IS CALLED BY IT NAME. I strongly believe if all stakeholders will come together and laws enforcement on drug abuse is taken serious it will go a long way to reduce drug abuse. Our schools should bring back certain subjects like "LIFE SKILLS", and if possible guidance and counseling should be take serious. Pharmacist should be well trained on the need to give drugs based on genuine prescriptions an Food and Drug Board authorities in conjunction with Pharmacy council should check the supply of certain drugs like "Tramadol".

Interesting sis. i always knew you gut it in you. Probably its time you begin to read me bedtime stories.
There's drug abuse on the streets. At home, even schools and work places sometimes administer wrongly.
It's time we forgot about the ghetto boys and focus on so called self-medication
The hard truth!
My deepest condolences
