ACCD is going to create a 3D-printer for printing bodies on the ISS
ACCD (United Rocket and Space Corporation, is a state corporation "Roscosmos") signed a cooperation agreement with the company 3D Bioprinting Solutions - a resident of "Skolkovo" innovation center, - in which by 2018 it is planned to create a magnetic bioprinter for 3D-printing tissue and organ constructs in weightlessness on the International space station (ISS).
"Creating a magnetic bioprinter allow print space tissue and organ constructs are hypersensitive to the effects of cosmic radiation - Sentinel organs (eg thyroid) for biomonitoring of the negative effect of cosmic radiation in the conditions of a long stay in space and to develop preventive countermeasures", - stated in the a document that was signed by General Director of ACCD Yuri Vlasov and CEO of 3D Bioprinting Solutions Mikhail Bakanov.
As transfers RIA Novosti news agency, the scientific part of the project will be in charge Professor, PhD, scientific director of the company's 3D Bioprinting Solutions Vladimir Mironov.
It is noted that in the future technology of magnetic 3D-biopechati can be used for the correction of tissue damage in the long-distance space flights, which will be another step towards the development of the person of the other planets. On Earth, it can be used for faster biopechati human tissues and organs.
