What Is Multimeter?
Multimeter is also known as Volt-Ohm Meter and this device is used to measure voltage current and resistance. Multimeter lets you see two types of analog and digital multimeter. This device is very beneficial for measuring current voltage and registers of any contonant in any circuit. And with the help of this small device, we can detect voltage current and resistance in any circuit anywhere.
Invention of Multimeter:
In 1820, a current-detection device named Galvanometer was created. Registry and voltage were measured in this device by Wheatstone Bridge. But the size of this device was bigger and it was a very slow working device. So that the value of the voltage and registers was not well known.
In the 1920s, multimeter was invented as a radio receiver. The credit for making multimeter is given to British post office engineer Donald Macadie. The meter that Macadie invented could measure voltage current and resistance and its name was Avometer.
Working and use :
()
In order to know the ampere of any circuit, you have to set the multimeter in the series of that circuit. But keep in mind that this multimeter can only measure the DC current's amperes. Use it in DC supply.
We also use multimeter to check the continuity of any circuit. If you want to know that no wire is cut in any circuit. For this you set multimeter above the continuity. And as you measure voltage, you can check the length of the wire by placing Probe on both sides of the wire.
With Continuity, you can also check any diodes whether it works or not. For this, you have to connect the multimeter's positive terminal to the diode's positive terminal and connect the negative terminal of the multimeter to the negative terminal of the diode. If your LED starts running, then that means the LED is perfect.
It is very easy to know the value of any register or resistive with multimeter, for that you have been given a range. Let's measure voltage like you. Similarly, the register is to be measured. First of all, you have to select the range of multimeter registers and add a multi-meter Probe to both ends of the register. And on the multimeter you will start registering the value of the register.
Cost of multimeter:
The first multimeter used to be expensive, but now multimeters have become very cheap compared to the earlier. You can buy it from ₹ 300 to 20000 online. The price of multimeter depends on its work and depends on its Range. If you buy multimeter of a good company, you will have to pay 500 to 1000 rupees. And if you want to buy a simple multimeter then it will cost you 200 to 500.
Good information about multimeter, it's very useful in electronics engineering...
