Why Vegetarians Don't Build Muscle Easily a Myth or not?

Hey Welcome, I'm here with a new topic which has been asked a number of times by the Vegetarian Guys that Why aren't they building muscles , so here's all what you need to know.

WHAT IS PROTEIN

First of all you should know what actually protein is and what functions it has in the human body.
Proteins are one of the building blocks of the tissue in our body and can also serve as a fuel source to give us energy.
It is present in all the cells of human body and it's function is to maintain the body and it's growth from skin ,hairs and then comes the MUSCLES etc.
Our body doesn't builds Muscles naturally excluding what you have ,here muscles are referred as extra muscles which we gain by Body building & exercises .
In order to build Muscles we have to first break/tear our muscle fibers during exercises and as a result our body rebuilds those broken muscle tissues/fibers using proteins and their size increases in order to bear that stress level you had put on your Muscles during exercises .{this process is known as Hypertrophy}

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANIMAL & PLANT BASED PROTEIN

So now you must be clear about what protein does in our body.Now it's important to know the difference between Animal based & Plant based Protein.
Animal based protein includes Chicken,Fish,Beef ,Eggs etc whereas plant based includes all types of Vegetables and plant based food.
Usually Protein has 20 amino acid & out of which there are 8/9 Essential Amino acids{EAA}, our body can produce all the amino acids except those 8/9 EAA.
Now the most important factor is that all the protein from Animal source contains complete protein profile,which means it contains all the EEAs whereas Plant based protein lacks one or two EAAs if we take all the vegetables individually .
You must be thinking that what does these EEAs do, so for your informations these EEAs are required mainly by the body to synthesize & help build muscles and recovery.

CAN PLANT PROTEIN BUILD MUSCLES OR NOT ?

You now have understood that plant based protein lacks one or two of the EEAs but have you noticed one thing that i said if we take it individually , means that Plant proteins may lack one or two EEAs in single protein source but if you combine a large variety of plant proteins you'll get your EEAs profile complete because it's not necessary that if one plant lacks a particular amino acid the other will lack the same .So mixing up your Plant based Proteins gives you all the EEAs __but there's a catch , In a recent research done by Harvard University ,it was stated that Animal source of protein consists of all the EEAs and same you can fulfill by combining different Plant proteins but still the ratio in which EEAs are packed in Animal source is what directly utilized by body & more efficiently than Plant based protein and after you combine different plant based protein your EEAs profile will be completed but not in a balanced state .
The other factor is that the Vegans who want to bulk get failed because Plant protein also lacks a nitrogenous organic acid called CREATINE ,whch is present in animal protein.These Two Factors Affect Vegetarian Body Builders.

Don't get Panic there are thousands of vegan Body builder out there ,they've built a good physique with some decent muscles .The reason is that you have to fuel your body with certain Supplements in order to get the result.

  • OMEGA -3'S
  • BCAA (BRANCHED CHAIN AMINO ACIDS)
  • GLUTAMINE
