Archaeologists dig up the world's unluckiest man
In Pompeii, archaeologists have now dug up the skeleton of what the skeleton of what must be the world's unluckiest man. Pompeii was once a thriving Roman city. Back in the year 79 AD the volcano Mount Vesuvius erupted and very bitter city under more than 2 metres of ashes. The eruption took the citizens of Pompeii by complete surprise. Many were killed during this catastrophe and it has gone down in history as probably the most famous volcano eruption in history.

Now a new skeleton of a man killed by the eruption has come to light. The man somehow survived the initial eruption. He then tried to escape through the streets of Pompeii. Unfortunately, he had suffered an injury to his leg. This meant that he could not move very fast. What happened next could have been the scene of a classic cartoon. A volcanic explosion hurled a huge rock towards him. The boulder landed straight on his head burying him beneath it. The man most probably died instantly.
Archaeologists puzzle together this story by analysing the skeleton. And although the story is tragic and we feel sorry for the poor guy, the image of the man buried under the boulder is comical. We cannot help but laugh at the black humour contained in this scene.
