WE’VE LOST ANOTHER EINSTEIN

Albert Einstein! The mention of this name sparks a memory in the minds of many; this is because Einstein works lives for him even though he is dead. His ground-breaking discoveries are known all over the world due to their relevance in the field of Physics and their precedence to many inventions. Albert Einstein, a German-born theoretical physicist is generally known as the most influential physicist of the 20th century. His discoveries in the field of Physics are stunning having gained global recognition and usage. Scientists and majorly physicists see Einstein as a one in a million genius. 1905 is popularly known as Einstein miracle year, he published four papers that made him famous, In the first paper, he applied the quantum theory (developed by German physicist Max Planck) to light in order to explain the phenomenon known as the photoelectric effect, by which a material will emit electrically charged particles when hit by light. The second article contained Einstein’s experimental proof of the existence of atoms, which he got by analyzing the phenomenon of Brownian motion, in which tiny particles were suspended in water.
In the third and most famous article, titled “On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies,” Einstein confronted the apparent contradiction between two principal theories of physics: Isaac Newton’s concepts of absolute space and time and James Clerk Maxwell’s idea that the speed of light was a constant. To do this, Einstein introduced his special theory of relativity, which held that the laws of physics are the same even for objects moving in different inertial frames (i.e. at constant speeds relative to each other), and that the speed of light is a constant in all inertial frames. A fourth paper concerned the fundamental relationship between mass and energy, concepts viewed previously as completely separate. Einstein’s famous equation E=mc2 (where “c” was the constant speed of light) expressed this relationship. His work on the photoelectric effect earned him a nobel prize in 1921.
Indeed Einstein was a genius and not just an ordinary genius he was a “supergenius” who never follows the crowd.

The Collins dictionary defines the name Einstein as a highly intelligent person. Though Albert Einstein is dead, there is a rebirth of many Einsteins in this 21st century that have brought about revolution through ground-breaking discoveries and breakthroughs in many disciplines. Professor Stephen William Hawking
The life of Professor Hawking is really an inspiring one to those with bodily disabilities, a challenge to anyone who doubts that geniuses are not born but made no matter what form they may take. He was born on the 8th of January, 1942. Hawking came from a poor background and though his parents attended prestigious colleges, they were not able to cater for his education. They decided to opt for scholarship which Hawking missed once due to an illness but was later awarded another. In High school, hawking was bright but not academically successful, though his popular nick name then was Einstein.

At a younger age, hawking was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis also known as the Lou Gehrig’s diseases, but this did deter him as he pressed on having received an encouragement from a teacher of his. He was awarded a first class honours in natural science from the University college, Oxford then he proceeded to the University of Cambridge for further studies. Though his disease was getting a hold of his body little, Hawking still went on to make amazing discoveries in the field of astronomy. Indeed he was another Einstein. He was also a theoretical physicist. Together with James Barden and Bradon Carter, hawking discovered the four laws of black hole mechanics and that they emitted radiation called Hawking radiation.
He authored and co-authored many books; one of such is his well known bestseller “A brief history of time”. He also won many awards such as the Albert Einstein medal (1978), The Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth II and the Medal of Freedom awarded to him by the former US president: Barrack Obama. Hawking lived a fulfilled family life as he was married to Jane Wilde who bore him three children. Though, he divorced her later for a nurse named Elaine Mason but he later reconciled with his first wife and family. He died on the 14th of March 2018 aged 76.

The world has indeed lost another Einstein, he is indeed gone but his works still live on.
