RE: Is There Anybody Out There?
I know Hawking's statement and it's quite legible - but from our point of view the things. We always measure things according to our standards.
But what if aliens tick a little differently than we do? Maybe there are some who don't have feelings like we have - for example aggression or other feelings? Or maybe they have completely different motives than humans? Maybe they are wiser than us? Ok, that is wishful thinking but who knows?
Or maybe Hawking is right and we should really be careful...
...and in the worst case scenario when they meet us, maybe they see us as a kind of food and eat us? :))))
Yes, better safe than sorry :)
Maybe they have other feelings and motives, but to me more likely is that the principles of growing, maximization and competition are common across the universe. All living things want to grow and get larger, if they meet other beings with the same intentions, there will be a conflict. Let´s hope there is a Pan-Galactic UN which keeps peace :)
Okay, I agree. The basic principle of life is to grow and evolution and getting better than others and to survive is unfortunately part of it... you can also observe it very well here on earth with simple lifeforms... thats true :)
An intergalactic UN like it is shown in Star Trek? Maybe there is something like that and they wait until we reach a certain level of civilisattion before they show themselves to us?
Exactly, like we do not speak to plants, they might still consider us as primitive weed and unclear if we have a future at all.
