Mars is more beautiful than you thinksteemCreated with Sketch.

This post contains photographs from Mars's surface and also the photos that were taken by the satellites orbiting Mars.
Take a look and enjoy.

A panoramic photo which was taken by an exploratory robot called Opportunity. It was taken in 15 August 2014. At this time Opportunity was studying the edge of the West End of the Crater. You can see its trails in the picture

Marss-fotografijas-si-3.jpg

This image taken on June 2015 shows a part of the Crisp Crater. In this picture you can see that not all mars is in the color of iron oxide, but in the deepest layers there is also a different composition of land.

Marss-fotografijas-si-5.jpg

The dunes on Mars are laid out like the desert of the Earth. The color of the picture changed and so these dunes remind me of the waves of the Earth's oceans and seas.

Although at the first glimpse of the eye it looks like that this photographed crater in 2014 is actually a double-crater but in reality, this crater was created as a result of one asteroid blow. The asteroid was abundantly large and powerful to crash the medium (bluish) crater but the rest of the crater was thrown off by a shockwave. In this case, a steel-shaped structure was formed, since under the ground there is an ice that is sufficiently solid so that the shock wave cannot be broken down.

Rocks on Mars, photographed by Curiosity.

Marss-fotografijas-si-7.jpg

A selfie on Mars! The picture was taken on January 19, 2016. It features a Mars exploratory robot Curiosity who travels to Namib dune. You cannot see the camera stand, as this picture consists of 56 raster images. This is not the first self-portrait on Mars and Curiosity is taking selfies on Mars relatively often.

Marss-fotografijas-si-8.jpg

Sunset on Mars. Mars is a red planet, so its sunsets are not as colorful and glamorous as the sunset on Earth. This is due to the different atmospheric composition on Mars and the density of the many times lower atmosphere. this image was taken by the Mars exploratory robot Spirit in 2005 to determine if there are any ice particles in the sky and how much dust particles spill into the atmosphere.

Marss-fotografijas-si-9.jpg

This sunset was photographed by Curiosity in 2015. The atmosphere is bluish as there are fine dust particles in the atmosphere that delay and reflect a short spectrum of colors.

Another selfie of Curiosity!

Marss-fotografijas-si-10.jpg

The dunes on the inside of the Gale Crater resemble the views that can be seen in the desert of the Earth. In 2015, this picture was taken by Curiosity.

Marss-fotografijas-si-12.jpg

In this panorama, you can see the edge of Gale Crater and it looks like a sky on a red planet during windy times.

Marss-fotografijas-si-13.jpg

One of Mars's poles. The white color there is dry ice - frozen carbon dioxide.

Marss-fotografijas-si-1.jpg

This picture is a mosaic of 102 Viking satellites that capture the image of Mars. In the center of the picture you can see Valles Marineris, a Mars canyon system that is more than 2000km long and up to 8km deep. This canyon is one of the proofs that water has once flooded mars, because at this time it is not possible to distinguish the emergence of such huge canyon without water corrosion.

Marss-fotografijas-si-14.jpg

Mars's Companion - Phobos.

These images are only a tiny fraction of what is on this planet, with more and more beautiful images being released over time, but above all, humanity must continue to invest resources in space exploration and colonization rather than in wars and other areas that destroy us.
