Why does the circle have 360 degrees? Does it have anything to do with the fact that a year has 365 days?

in #science6 years ago

Greetings everybody, There are different theories behind this and all are conceivable responses to this demand.

1The Babylonians used to use a congruity of length equivalent to the degree with a particular honest to goodness objective to check a circle. Such benevolence endeavors 60 degrees in within. Since the Babylonians used a base 60 number structure, they subdivided this 60-degree point into 60 an equity of passing on 1 degree as the most immaterial quantifiable edge. Since a circle can have 6 such harmonies, the aggregate point ended up 360 degrees.

2 Since there are to an amazing degree 365 days in a year (not 360) for what reason isn't a degree depicted to be 1/365 of a buoy instead of the official 1/360? I have seen a couple of edifications, most not wonderfully convincing. My present most revered representation is that the number 360 is an exchange off between the sun organized year of around 365.25 days and the lunar year including a time of 29.5 days each of around 354.37 days. Obviously, the months fit well with the Zodiac, which recognized a major work in their stargazing. Another wisdom delineation, regardless, which I've never seen conceded by a strong source: an old Persian timetable demonstrating a period of 360 days has been found, so maybe the year around then was 5 days shorter than our year!

3Lastly, on the off chance that you by a few strategies understands how to take the extent of a circle and make a symmetrical triangle with it (ambiguous sides and focuses) you'd find that six of them fit flawlessly into the circle. In advance, people used the sexagesimal structure which has a base of 60 (we use the decimal system now, that has a base of 10). It's associated that everybody with these triangles was discretionarily given the estimation of 60. In like way, 6 x 60 = 360.

In the event that you know anything concerning Why does the circle have 360 degrees? Let us know in the remarks underneath.
