The use of Nuclear Energy has revolutionized the lives of mankind. Some scientists are not satisfied just using Nuclear Energy for power generation. They want the use of Nuclear Energy in every aspect of human life. The following facts are examples where scientists innovate Nuclear on unusual matters, just to test whether the test is successful or not.

NUCLEAR - PROJECT OIL SAND

Oil drilling is a controversial topic today even since the late 1950s. In 1958, the Canadian government sought ways to extract asphalt from sand in the Alberta Oil Refinery.

Dr. Manley Natland, a renowned geologist, believes he can help the Canadian government seek solutions. When Dr. Manley Natland is in Saudi Arabia, he witnessed the glow of the sunset. This phenomenon became the forerunner of the idea of ??using Nuclear Explosion under the ground to separate the asphalt from oil sands and according to this is a fast and effective way to extract the asphalt.

Subsequently, Natland submitted the proposal to the US Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). Then the AEC gave the green light to Natland and even stated that they would help with the first blast, which is planned at a depth of 10 kilometers underground from the Alberta Oil Refinery.

It appears that the Natland plan raises doubts about the environmental impacts of groundwater contamination. Finally the Canadian government decided not to continue the Nuclear Nuclear program even though the goal is good but the Canadian government also worries that the Natland Nuclear device fell into Soviet hands

 

A NUCLEAR BOMB - CONVAIR NB-36H

The superpowers seemed to be racing to make the Nuclear Bomb including finding a way to send the Nuclear Bomb to the Intercontinental Targets target, this idea arose because the missile technology was still in the development stage. Long-distance bombers are the best solution, but the Bomber Plan also has a limited range, since the range of cruising a plane is determined by the amount of fuel transported.

To counter this, the US military financed a series of tests for the installation of a Nuclear Reactor inside a Convair NB-36H bomber aircraft that is a US Air Force Bomber plane (USAAF). The purpose of installation of this nuclear reactor so that the plane is able to explore the world without limits, without fear of running out of fuel.

The scientists completely overhauled the Convair NB-36H to install large water tanks around the reactor that would absorb radiation leakage, the crew cabin components specially designed with radiation protection to keep the crew safe.

Prior to the first flight test, the plane had been fitted with radioactive symbols, the USAAF was very cautious, even the then American President Dwight D. Eisenhower reportedly monitored the live tests through hotlines. In the moments ahead of the flight, the President decided to postpone the tests on the advice of the state defense advisory board, citing the safety and security of Americans from potential nuclear radiation leaks. Since the project started in 1960, it is still pending.
