5 rather weird aspects related to CERN ( Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire )
Introduction
In 1952, eleven European countries came together to form the European Council for Nuclear Research (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire in French) which gave it the acronym CERN.
Two years later in 1954 it was renamed the European Organization for Nuclear Research, which would've given it the French name of Organisation Européenne pour la Recherche Nucléaire or the acronym (OERN). Nobody liked "OERN", so the acronym CERN staid.
CERN occupies mainly with the study of interactions between subatomic particles. The objective was to find the Higgs boson( or 'God particle'). The Higgs boson is the particle associated with the Higgs field, an energy field that transmits mass to the things that travel through it. They achieved this on 4 July 2012. Now with their objective completed they will keep the facility going for at least 20 years , not knowing what to look for and hoping to find even more as they believe the Higgs boson particle is to light for their thesis and there must be something more related to the 'God particle'.
1st weird thing at CERN,
Now I do not know of any scientist that are in the entertainment bussines or having a passion to dance, it would rather be the opposite. Certainly this video involves a weird way to dance with a dark figure that I cannot make up the meaning for. Perhaps the cosmic dance ( see below)

3. The big Shiva statue.
Shiva the hindu god of destruction, often depicted with snakes ( we know where snakes are described as bad). Also known as the cosmic dancer who performs his divine dance to destroy a weary universe and prepare for it's renewal. Kinda strange this hindu god stands at the entrance of CERN facilities. Certainly knowing that CERN is located in France as it is in Switserland under the ground with no country involved that practices hinduism.
4. The famous CERN mock ritual
Now, I like to make jokes. I pranked people in my younger days with friends , but this I do not think of as funny. With the black robes and all making it look like a satanic or occultic ritual. Certainly a bad taste for humor these people have. Now interesting this happens before the Shiva statue, I do not know if this is a prank or not but it shure as hell is weird!
5. CERN location
the town in France where CERN is partially situated is called “Saint-Genus-Poilly.” The name Pouilly comes from the Latin “Appolliacum” and it is likely that under the roman occupation the temple of the village was dedicated to Appollon. It is interesting to note that CERN is built on the same spot.
APOLLYON: The Greek name, meaning "Destroyer" (in Hebrew called Abaddon), also identified as the king of the "locusts" as described in Revelation 9:3-10
Some Religious leaders drew a connection to a verse straight out of Revelations (9:1-2, 11), which makes reference to the name ‘Apollyon.’ The verse states: “To him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit… And they had a kind over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.”
Sure does sound strange to me, what do you think?

Your post is a bit offensive against CERN. I will not comment everything as this makes no sense to me, but just the physics and one fact that is wrong.
I would like to say: please, don't call the Higgs boson the 'God particle'. That's a bad surname that not a single physicist likes and that was invented by a non-physicist editor. In addition, what you say about the discovery of the Higgs was one of the first goals of the LHC which is not the only experiment running at CERN (actually, you should replace CERN by LHC in the beginning of your post when you discuss the Higgs).
It is not correct to say that CERN is located at Saint-Genis-Pouilly as the main entrance is in Meyrin, Switzerland. CERN administration is also in Meyrin. Actually, there is nothing in Saint-Genis connected to CERN, but an entrance to CERN that is open 2 hours in the morning and an exit to France that is open a few hours in the evening.

I can understand your response and also that physicist don't like the name but it has gotten that surname anyway. And yes, but the LHC collider is part of CERN and the points I'm talking about are related to CERN and not the LHC, I tought to give an introduction of one of their big achievement even tought they found a lot more trough the years but the post was about weird aspect of the facility and not the full history of their achievement or works(I would have to make a post of a book long) . And for the location I said where it is partially situated in France not stating it is a main entrance or such.
