The story that is passed on by humans, to thousands of generations, for millennia.
The story that has been told by our earliest ancestors, that has been painted in caves, written on scripts, carved & build in stones across the planet. 

Did our ancestors had to tell a story, so greatly important, that it had to be remembered forever? That it pushed their boundaries of spiritual, scientific and technical limits?

We are, Homo sapiens, according to genetic and fossil evidence, our story is that we evolved to anatomically modern humans solely in Africa, between 200,000 and 100,000 years ago, with members of one branch leaving Africa by 60,000 years ago and over time replacing earlier human populations such as Neanderthals and Homo erectus.  

Our roots of civilization reach back to the earliest introduction of primitive technology and culture.
The intangible desire to explore, conquer and challenge the boundaries of what we know and where we have been has provided benefits to our society for millennia. Through stories we bring understanding and meaning of human existence.

So many stories have been carved, scratched, painted, printed or inked onto wood or bamboo, ivory and other bones, pottery, clay tablets, stone, palm-leaf books, skins (parchment), paper, silk, canvas and other textiles, recorded on film and stored electronically in digital form.  

Stories have power. They delight, enchant, touch, teach, recall, inspire, motivate, challenge.

All over the world there are extraordinary stories—stories that once upon a time were believed to be true but are today limited to the sphere of ancient myths and legends.  

Many different stories about the Apocalypse, Creation, The Prophet, The Fall, The Flood, Atlantis, Moses and the Plagues, Resurrection of Gods, David and Goliath, etcetera.

The question remains, are those stories something that existed in the minds of our ancestors, or were they based on true events? 

SPECIES OF AMNESIA
For the past decade academics have been involved in such an intense dispute about whether or not a comet impact actually occurred 12,800 years ago that the implications of what it might have meant for the story of civilisation have not yet been considered at all.  

Our planet has undergone a series of glacial-interglacial ages, with the most recent great Ice Age ending only 10,000 years ago. The termination of that ice age was truly a global warming event.  

Very convincing scientific and archaeological evidence has only recently come to light.
The research of Graham Hancock, a British journalist and writer of the ‘Magicians Of The Gods’ and Randall Carlson, a master builder, geometrician, geological explorer for Geo Cosmic Rex and their specialities in unconventional theories involving ancient civilisations, stone monuments or megaliths, altered states of consciousness, ancient myths and astronomical/astrological data from the past, research and exploration into the interface between ancient mysteries and modern science. Truly gives a fantastic boost to remembrance of an ancient story, that’s still today is too important for mankind to be forgotten … 

It reveals evidence that an ‘sophisticated’ civilization, had flourished during the Ice Age and was destroyed in the global cataclysms between 12,800 and 11,600 years ago.  

But there were survivors - they travelled the world ‘in their great ships’ doing all in their power to keep the spark of civilization burning.  They settled at key locations - Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, Baalbek in Lebanon, Giza in Egypt, ancient Sumer, Mexico, Peru and across the Pacific where a huge pyramid has recently been discovered in Indonesia.  

Everywhere they went these 'Magicians of the Gods' brought with them the memory of a time when mankind had fallen out of harmony with the universe and paid a heavy price.

DECODING THE ICE AGE
Geologically speaking, we live in a time period of intense climatic change.  
Since the last 1 million years, our species and our human forebears experienced a dozen or so major glaciations of the northern hemisphere, with the greatest ever occurring around 650,000 years ago.   

Mammoth, mastodon, wooly rhinoceros, giant bison, camels, horses, and many large predators (cats, wolves, bears) roamed the grasslands well south of the rim of the miles-high ice, both in North America and in Europe. Small bands of humans made a living by hunting and gathering in Africa, and perhaps elsewhere.  
The glaciation that occurred 650,000 years ago lasted some 50,000 years.  

It had a profound effect on the landscape, carving great glacial valleys and fjords and lakes.
The greatly lowered sea level allowed rivers to cut deeply into the shelves of the continents and into the edges of the shelves, where the sea floor drops off into the deep ocean. Here canyons could form which would later serve to funnel sediments from the shelf into the deep sea. 

“Near the end of the last Ice Age 12,800 years ago, a giant comet that had entered the solar system from deep space thousands of years earlier, broke into multiple fragments. Some of these struck the Earth causing a global cataclysm on a scale unseen since the extinction of the dinosaurs. At least eight of the fragments hit the North American ice cap, while further fragments hit the northern European ice cap. The impacts, from comet fragments a mile wide approaching at more than 60,000 miles an hour, generated huge amounts of heat which instantly liquidized millions of square kilometers of ice, resulting in a very rapid, 400 foot sea level rise! and destabilising the Earth's crust and causing the global Deluge that is remembered in myths all around the world. A second series of impacts, equally devastating, causing further cataclysmic flooding, occurred 11,600 years ago."

Randall Carlson’s findings of these geological fingerprints in North America of a global cataclysm, explains that the Ice Age ended 12,800 years ago.  It’s new evidence for a comet impact on the North American ice sheet. Ancient stories about water floods of biblical in scale, causing environmental havoc, suddenly seem more realistic, more tangible.

ANCIENT ARCHITECTURE
It is not an accident that the first traces of the re-emergence of civilization, in the form of the earliest known megalithic architecture and the re-promulgation of agricultural skills, occur at Gobekli Tepe in Turkey 11,500 years ago — a date that coincides exactly with the end of the Younger Dryas and the return to a more congenial global environment. 

There are megalith structures all over the world that were used as calendars, these magical wonders of architecture include Stonehenge, El Castillo to the Great Pyramids at Giza.  
Many of these structures have been left out of the history books but they are there, around the globe for all to see. 

Klaus Schmidt has made one of the most startling archaeological discoveries of our time: massive carved stones about 11,000 years old, crafted and arranged by prehistoric people who had not yet developed metal tools or even pottery.  An ancient city in southeastern Turkey. The megaliths predate Stonehenge by some 6,000 years.  

The place is called Gobekli Tepe, and Schmidt, a German archaeologist who has been working here more than a decade, is convinced it's the site of the world's oldest temple.
Prehistoric people would have gazed upon herds of gazelle and other wild animals; gently flowing rivers, which attracted migrating geese and ducks; fruit and nut trees; and rippling fields of wild barley and wild wheat varieties such as emmer and einkorn. "This area was like a paradise," says Schmidt, a member of the German Archaeological Institute. Indeed, Gobekli Tepe sits at the northern edge of the Fertile Crescent—an arc of mild climate and arable land from the Persian Gulf to present-day Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Egypt—and would have attracted hunter-gatherers from Africa and the Levant. And partly because Schmidt has found no evidence that people permanently resided on the summit of Gobekli Tepe itself, he believes this was a place of worship on an unprecedented scale—humanity's first "cathedral on a hill." 

Other recently discovered geological evidence in Egypt backs up the idea, that ancient architecture was build by a ‘sophisticated civilisation’. Graham Hancock believes that the Giza complex encodes a message, he suggests that the initiation rituals of the Egyptian pharaohs replicate on Earth the sun's journey through the stars in this remote era, and they suggest that the "Hall of Records" of a lost civilization may be located by treating the Giza Plateau as a template of these same ancient skies. The researchers go on to suggest, using computer simulations of the sky, that the pyramids, representing the three stars of Orion's Belt, along with associated causeways and alignments, constitute a record in stone of the celestial array at the vernal equinox in 10,500 BC. This moment, they contend, represents Zep Tepi, the "First Time," often referred to in the hieroglyphic record.  

Here are some mind-blowing facts about the ‘advanced’ skills in architecture, geometry, astronomy, philosophy, that our ancestors applied in building the Great Pyramid at Giza in Egypt.  

• The pyramid is estimated to have around 2,300,000 stone blocks that weigh from 2 to 30 tons each and there are even some blocks that weigh over 50 tons.
• The Pyramid of Menkaure, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Khufu are precisely aligned with the Constellation of Orion.
• The base of the pyramid covers 55,000 m2 (592,000 ft 2) with each side greater than 20,000 m2 (218,000 ft2) in area.
• The interior temperature is constant and equals the average temperature of the earth, 20 Degrees Celsius (68 Degrees Fahrenheit).
• The outer mantle was composed of 144,000 casing stones, all of them highly polished and flat to an accuracy of 1/100th of an inch, about 100 inches thick and weighing approx. 15 tons each.
• The cornerstone foundations of the pyramid have ball and socket construction capable of dealing with heat expansion and earthquakes.
• Aligned True North: The Great Pyramid is the most accurately aligned structure in existence and faces true north with only 3/60th of a degree of error. The position of the North Pole moves over time and the pyramid was exactly aligned at one time.
• Center of Land Mass: The Great Pyramid is located at the center of the land mass of the earth. The east/west parallel that crosses the most land and the north/south meridian that crosses the most land intersect in two places on the earth, one in the ocean and the other at the Great Pyramid.
• The centers of the four sides are indented with an extraordinary degree of precision forming the only 8 sided pyramid; this effect is not visible from the ground or from a distance but only from the air, and then only under the proper lighting conditions. This phenomenon is only detectable from the air at dawn and sunset on the spring and autumn equinoxes, when the sun casts shadows on the pyramid.
• The weight of the pyramid is estimated at 5,955,000 tons. Multiplied by 10^8 gives a reasonable estimate of the earth’s mass.
• The Descending Passage pointed to the pole star Alpha Draconis, circa 2170-2144 BCE. This was the North Star at that point in time. No other star has aligned with the passage since then.
• The southern shaft in the King’s Chamber pointed to the star Al Nitak (Zeta Orionis) in the constellation Orion, circa 2450 BCE The Orion constellation was associated with the Egyptian god Osiris. No other star aligned with this shaft during that time in history.
• The curvature designed into the faces of the pyramid exactly matches the radius of the earth.
• Khufu’s pyramid, known as the great pyramid of Giza, is the oldest and largest, rising at 481 feet (146 meters). Archeologists say it was the tallest structure in the world for about 3, 800 years.
• The relationship between Pi (p) and Phi (F) is expressed in the fundamental proportions of the Great Pyramid.

John Anthony West, an author and alternative Egyptologist, investigated Schwaller de Lubicz's ‘water erosion hypothesis’ of The Great Sphinx of Giza further and sought the opinion of Robert M. Schoch, a geologist and associate professor of natural science at the College of General Studies at Boston University.

From his investigation of the enclosure's geology, Schoch concluded the main type of weathering evident on the Sphinx enclosure walls was caused by prolonged and extensive rainfall.  According to Schoch, the area has experienced a mean annual rainfall of approximately one inch (2.5 cm) since the Old Kingdom (c. 2686 – 2134 BC), such that, since Egypt's last period of significant rainfall ended between the late fourth and early 3rd millennium BC, the Sphinx's construction must date to the 6th or 5th millennium BC. So predated the time of Djedefre and Khafre, the Pharaohs credited by most modern Egyptologists with building the Great Sphinx and Second Pyramid at Giza around 2500 BC. 

CONNECTING THE WORLD  
You'll probably be just as astonished as I was when realizing that many of the most mysterious and famous ancient sites are aligned to the 'alternative equator'.  
With so many ancient ruins built along astronomical alignments, there is little doubt that their architects were keen observers of the stars. Many popular authors suggest possibility that mysterious sites around the world were created with help of advanced knowledge and technology (possibly more advanced than our current one) possessed by lost civilizations. Others do not believe that there ever was very advanced civilization on earth and all of the superb knowledge was handed down to us by ancient astronauts who came down from heaven. Most scientists do not subscribe to any of these ideas and try to explain ancient enigmas on the ground of  religion and ritual… 

The Great Pyramid is aligned with Machupicchu, the Nazca lines and Easter Island along a straight line around the center of the Earth, within a margin of error of less than one tenth of one degree of latitude.  Other sites of ancient construction that are also within one tenth of one degree of this line include: Perseopolis, the capital city of ancient Persia; Mohenjo Daro, the ancient capital city of the Indus Valley; and the lost city of Petra.  The Ancient Sumarian city of Ur and the templesyouat Angkor Wat are within one degree of latitude of this line.  The alignment of these sites is easily observable on a globe of the Earth with a horizon ring. If you line up any two of these sites on the horizon ring, all of the sites will be right on the horizon ring.  

In Google Earth you can also draw this line around the Earth. Start on the Equator, at the mouth of the Amazon River, at 49° 17′ West Longitude; go to 30° 18′ North Latitude, 40° 43′ East Longitude, in the Middle East, which is the maximum latitude the line touches; then go to the Equator at 130° 43′ East Longitude, near the Northwest tip of New Guinea; then to 30° 18′ South Latitude, 139° 17′ West Longitude, in the South Pacific; and then back to 49° 17′ West Longitude, at the Equator.

Astrological beliefs in correspondences between celestial observations and terrestrial events have influenced various aspects of human history, including world-views, language and many elements of a culture. 

Little is know about prehistoric timekeeping but some records and artefacts have given us a glimpse into early man's obsession with time. It suspected that even ice-age hunters over 20,000 years ago scratched lines in animal bone to mark the passage of time, possibly marking phases of the moon.

For example the Mayans, dating back to at least the 5th century BC, had a sophisticated calendar, losing only one day in 6000 years.  Their predictions of solar and lunar eclipses were incredibly accurate. As many have heard, they predicted a date that some believed would be the end of the world.  This date, translated to our calendar, is on December 23, 2012.  
So, the Mayans figured there was something important to the changing of ages. This date marks the time in the precessional cycle of the earth that we will move out of the constellation of Pisces and on to the age of Aquarius. Presently we are in the age of Pisces, which means that when the sun rises on the vernal equinox it rises in the direction that the constellation of Pisces is in the sky.  However, due to precession, every 2160 years on the vernal equinox the sun rises in a different constellation.  

It seems that there was a very advanced observational astronomy, dating at a time when supposedly people were still living on trees.  

STORY OF THE FUTURE  
Is all of this proof that ancient ancestors left us the most important story of all time?

Does the Biblical Resurrection in religions, still dominating the world today, ring-a-bell? 

In Egyptian myth, Apophis was the ancient spirit of evil and destruction, a demon that was determined to plunge the world into eternal darkness. A fitting name, astronomers reasoned, for a menace now hurtling towards Earth from outerspace.   Scientists are monitoring the progress of a 390-metre wide asteroid discovered last year that is potentially on a collision course with the planet, and are imploring governments to decide on a strategy for dealing with it. Nasa has estimated that an impact from Apophis, which has an outside chance of hitting the Earth in 2036, would release more than 100,000 times the energy released in the nuclear blast over Hiroshima.  
Thousands of square kilometres would be directly affected by the blast but the whole of the Earth would see the effects of the dust released into the atmosphere. At the peak of concern, Apophis asteroid was placed at four out of 10 on the Torino scale - a measure of the threat posed by an NEO where 10 is a certain collision which could cause a global catastrophe.  

This was the highest of any asteroid in recorded history and it had a 1 in 37 chance of hitting the Earth.  
The threat of a collision in 2029 was eventually ruled out at the end of last year. 

Near Earth Object Program is a department of NASA, which detects, tracks and characterizes potentially hazardous asteroids and comets and their potential future Earth impact events.
