Nissan introduces the first solid-oxide-fuel
cell car that uses liquid fuel such as ethanol. While mileage figures are not given they claim a range of 372 miles on fill up of a 30 litre tank.
Like all fuel cell vehicles the car is electric and uses a battery in conjunction with the fuel cell. The cell puts out 5kW which seems small to me.
This is a departure from the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles being introduced by others. It will be tested in Brazil? Of all places, Cheap alcohol I guess? I'll be watching this one.

Oh I can help with this one, the standard lithium ion battery used in traditional electric and hybrid cars has an output of 5.2 kW so this batteries out put is essentially on par with the current gold standard. Its certainly a technology to watch!
