Algorithm for Predicting Death was Developed

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of continuous follow-up algorithms to help predict sudden deaths from heart attacks, respiratory insufficiency, or any condition. The algorithm called Wave Clinical Platform was developed by medical technology company Excel Medical. The Wave Clinical Platform is the first AI platform approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

How does the algorithm work?
The WAVE platform looks at the vital signs of the patient, such as heart rate and respiratory rate, blood pressure and body temperature. Algorithm system, knowledge of the relationship between different vital findings gives information to the medical personnel that something went wrong before hours, without any urgent vital situation. The platform briefly feels slight changes in life and sends warnings about six hours before a potentially lethal event occurs.
According to a study conducted in the Patient Safety Journal, more than 400,000 people die early in hospitals per year. The Wave platform saves valuable time and saves people's lives by giving them the chance to intervene efficiently.

Algorithm can continuously monitor patients. Mary Baum, the chief strategy officer at ExcelMedical, said that healthcare personnel are not sufficient for the elderly population in the hospital, so that more resources and services are needed, so this algorithm developed will be very useful and practical.
