Yeah, no thanks. I don't care how much money could be made, it's Frankenstein technology.
They tinker with things and tell us how wonderful they are, how helpful they are, how good they are, until they're not. Then it's too late. Don't forget Doctors smoked and promoted smoking in the 50's only to find out smoking kills. Oops.
I totally agree with you that this technology is so powerful that it easily can be misused. Therefore, it’s government’s task to provide a reasonable legal regulatory frame which prevents the misuse of this technology without hindering the development in this field.
Fact is: the genie is out of the bottle, and it won’t go back into it any more.

I agree. However, I do believe that research and science has improved since then.
Indeed - It has and will do in the future even more. :)
