Don't fall for it...it's a scam.
http://lsteemit.com/account-security-breach
notice the l in front of steemit.com...
that should NOT be there
Do NOT clik that link...do NOT send them an email..they're trying to take your Steem.
I've been on Steemit for fourteen months and I've NEVER heard of Steemit Security
this is BOGUS.
BEWARE
In other news isn't it about damn time the DEVS do something about this?
wallet spam I mean...it'd be simple to fix.
Raise the minimium to...oh...ten steem?
Thank you very much to inform us about the way of scammer to cheat us. I have been aware because if your post. Have a nice day my friend.
Regard from Aceh Province, Indonesia.
You're welcome.
Totally agreed. Don't click on the link no matter what.
Yup, and the person doing this had the stupidity (greed) to spam what's basically a broad cross section of Steemit's richest/oldest accounts. Masquerading as "Bittrex," no less.
Ah well, rep is at -2 and falling.
Thanks for the heads-up.
whom ever the fool is didn't think we kept up with the news?
Bittrex delisting BitShares for example?
I think you pretty much covered it all at "fool."
Looks like there were a lot of people hit up by that scam. I guess they think that most of the users are facebook newbies or something with nothing between the ears. Guess they were wrong. I saw a story, nice write up, on wired mag about steemit, I wonder if that was what got the person to take action.
dunno...I heard about that write up.
didn't read it...how was it?
It was pretty good, done by an aussie,( @andrewmcmillen ).he has an excerpt of the story on his page. I guess steemit is almost famous.
That would be a solution, I might opt for a smaller number. If someone wants to try to scam me and just the attempt costs them a dollar or 2 that I get for free, the trick would be on them as long as everyone stayed diligent.
it's coming to that I think.
I saw something the other week about an ap for gmail that went something like
"HI...you're not on the white list...pleas pay $X and include an brief explanation as to why I should spend any of my time on you. If I like it you get the money back...If not I keep it."..
If my spam folder keeps filling up...I might have to chase that down and implement it.
I have seen a few warning about this today, all from high number Steemians, looks like they are targeting the whales
thanks very much m8
You should censor that url or at least make it unclickable by removing the http: from it.
why?
if someone is stupid enough to clik on it after being warned NOT too then who am I to stop them.
Can't fix stupid..just hope that they don't breed.
Breeding is the problem. If they are stupid enough to click it their account gets hijacked. Then that account is used to spread more phishing links.
good post buddy ,,,
very cool and great ..
Thanks for this.
Lol using the "funds" today usually screams of scam.
