Teach us to pray

in #sc-v6 years ago

The disciples of the Lord saw that He was always in the presence of God through long periods of prayer and told the Lord "Teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples." Luke 11: 1, And the Lord taught him a pattern of perfect prayer.

It was his own model and insofar as we discern and learn it and make it part of our model, the periods of prayer will have more order and fullness for our life as we begin to enjoy the answers of the Lord.

Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Calling God our Father is a privilege of a few. People say "we are all children of God" but that is ignorance. It is true that we are all creatures of God, creation of God like animals and land and sun; but, being a child of God is only for those who receive Jesus Christ as their personal savior John 1: 12 says it clearly.

There are people who say the God of Abraham, of Isaac, of Jacob, of Paul, the God of Elijah. But today you can say "My God", and more than that "My father". In addition, prayer should not begin as the prayer of the neurotic, pedilonas, weeping and quejonas sheep "bless me, help me, provide me, heal me".
That should not be our prayer, to begin with we pray to have communion with our loving father, we must express our love, gratitude, we must learn to sanctify the name of God He likes to be called by their names and we must understand what it is a triune God, of different names, that reflect his character and nature.

Excellent @whaleska. You say well: "Calling God our Father is a privilege of a few." The Lord's Prayer is our model of prayer, given by our own father.
Thanks for sharing.
