It was the sacrifice of Christ, the shedding of his blood, that made it possible for God to give us the gift of his grace; As Romans 3:24 says, we can be "justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." Therefore, the grace of God is received through Jesus Christ, and, if we did not receive it, we would die as a consequence of our sins without the opportunity to have eternal life.
