My Poem: Who Am I? - THE LIGHT!
It was on a Sunday morning
After the preacher has exhorted
I asked myself who I am
I felt the answer in my soul
I looked at the beauty of the creation
Lost in the awe of this splendor
I began to meditate and ponder
What is the essence of my being
Who am I? Why my existence?
What is the reason behind my creation?
What was I born to become?
Well, these questions were rhetorical
The more I thought
The more I engaged with my soul
The closer I was to getting these answers
For me, it was a reality
I suffered from worldliness
In silence and pain, agony and agony
Hunted by my past experiences
I was lost in darkness
But now, I have found light
A light that darkness cannot comprehend
Unequaled, unparalleled and unmatched
It was unusual
This is a light of which unveiled my identity
And brought me to the knowledge of who I am
Not just transformed by it was I
But it made me the light
Now I work in power
I operate in dominion and authority
I live a life of favour
Because I know who I am
Things may not work out well
My goals may not be executed
Yet, my joy is mine, irreplaceable
Because I know who I am
Life may be difficulty
The perplexities of the moments may be unbearable
Yet, I'm unshakable and resilient
Because I know who I am
And this is who I am -
Courageous, wonderful, excellent and powerful
It isn't privilege or pity that I seek, safety or reverence
The the power to be who I am, - the light!
