THE FULLNESS OF THE SPIRIT
Almost all Christians believe they are filled with the Spirit, but only a few yearn to be filled with the Spirit.
But how can a Christian know the fullness of the spirit if he has not had the experience of being full?
It would be useless, however, to tell someone how to be filled with the Spirit unless he first believes that he can be.
No one can wait for something, if he is not convinced that it is the will of God for his life and that is contained within the provision revealed in the Scripture. Before the question "How can I be full?" has validity for the one who seeks, this You must be sure that this experience is entirely possible. The man who is not sure, has no reason for expectation. Where there is no expectation there is no faith, and where there is no faith the search has no meaning.
The doctrine of the Spirit, in its relationship with believers - in the past fifty years - has been enveloped in a fog like the one that perches on the top of a mountain in stormy weather. A world of confusion has surrounded this truth and the children of God have adopted contrary doctrines regarding the same text; warned, threatened and intimidated until they instinctively recoil at the mere mention of the biblical teaching concerning the Holy Spirit.
This confusion has not happened by accident. An enemy has done this. Satan knows that evangelism lacking in the Spirit is dead as modernism or heresy. And he has done everything in his power to prevent us from joining the true Christian heritage. A Church without the Spirit is helpless. As it would have happened to the people of Israel in the desert if the pillar of fire had abandoned it. The Holy Spirit is our cloud during the day and pillar of fire at night.
Without it, we will be lost in the desert ... and this is what is currently happening. We have divided into small groups; each running after a chimera with the wrong belief that we are behind the Shekinah glory. Not only do you want the column to start lifting again: it is imperative.
The church can be light, only if it is filled with the Spirit; and it can only be full, if its members are individually filled. Therefore, no one can be full until he is convinced that this expreience is a part of the entire redemption plan. It is nothing added or extra; nothing strange or strange, but an appropriate and spiritual operation of God, which is based and comes from the atoning work of Christ. The one who seeks must be sure to the point of conviction. You must believe that all this is normal and correct. He must believe that it is God's will to anoint him with fresh oil, in addition to the ten thousand blessings he has received from the Lord's kind hand.
While it comes to this conviction, I recommend that Take time to fast, pray, and meditate on the Scriptures.Suggestions, exhortations or the psychological effect of the testimony of others that may have been filled is not enough.
Unless you are persuaded by the Scriptures, you should not press the matter to allow yourself to fall victim to emotional manipulations that attempt to force the occurrence of this manifestation.
God is wonderfully patient and understanding and will wait for the slow hearts to perceive the truth. In the meantime, the search engine should remain confident and calm. At some point, God will guide you across the Jordan. It must not rush. Many Christians have tried and only brought disaster to their life. After a man is convinced that he can be filled with the Spirit he must decide to be it!
For the interested inquirer, I have these questions:
Are you sure you want to be possessed by a Spirit who, while pure and kind, wise and loving, will insist on being the Lord of your life? Are you sure you want to be taken for one that requires total obedience to what is written in the word? What will not tolerate any kind of sin in your life: selfishness and self-justification? What will the complete direction of his life take and exercise his sovereignty to test and discipline him? What will uproot from you many objects that you love that secretly harm your soul?
Unless you respond with a resounding "yes" to these questions, you do not want to be "filled". You may want the shudder, victory, or power, but not really be filled with the Spirit. His longing is much less than a pale desire and very unconvincing to please God; who demands everything, or nothing.
Again I ask: Are you sure you need to be full with the spirit?
Millions of believers accept their hypocritical lies as gospel truths and return to their caves as the prophets of Obadiah to eat bread and water. Before being filled we must be empty. Before God can fill it, we must be empty of us same.
This is the void that causes the unpleasant pain and desperation of the SELF, from which many people have suffered
just before his new and radiant experience.
There must be a total "self-devaluation", a death to all things outside and inside us, or it can never be Real the filling with the Holy Spirit. The revered idol that I have known, anything that is help me to remove it from your throne and worship only you.
We sing this very easily, but we cancel our prayer with our reluctance to displace the same idol from which we sing Leaving our last idol, is equivalent to dives in a state of inner solitude that no evangelical meeting, or fellowship with other Christians, can ever cure. That is why many Christians choose a life without commitment. They have something of God, but not everything; and God has something of them, but not everything.
That's why they live warm lives and try to hide behind a bright smile and harmonious choirs, the spiritual misery that
they lodge inside. One thing should be clear as the crystal: the journey of the soul through the dark night has no merit some. Suffering and loneliness do not make a Man appreciate God. Everything comes from his kindness over plane of the redeeming blood of Christ and this is a gift free, with nothing added.
Being filled with the Spirit clearly has to do with focusing on the Lord in many ways: Singing, praying, reading and studying His Word! This way we use all the means that God has given us to be filled with the Spirit. Paul says somewhere: "For the Lord (Jesus) is the Spirit" (2 Corinthians 3:17). This does not mean that we can not distinguish between the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but it does mean that there is a very close bond between Jesus and the Holy Spirit: When we focus on Jesus Christ, the Lord who was crucified and has been resurrected, the Spirit is working in us, to fill us with himself.
The teaching of scripture on the fullness of the Spirit is, therefore, a fact that every Christian should understand, apply and appropriate such a great blessing that God prepares for us (Eph 2:10).
After Pentecost, all who seek fulfillment are filled with the Holy Spirit
1.- Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit to announce an important message (Acts 4: 8)
2.- The Christian group that prayed for the value and power of God (Acts 4:31)
3.- Paul was filled with the Spirit, after his conversion (Acts 9:17)
4.- The first deacons (Acts 6: 3), Barnabas (Acts 11:24),
The fullness of the Holy Spirit is an experience of the believer, in contrast to the dwelling, sealing and baptism. It is a commandment to appropriate this provision and allow the Holy Spirit to fill our life, because it is the means by which God accomplishes his work in the life of the person. There is no evidence that the fullness of the Spirit, before Pentecost was open to every person who surrendered to God, was conditioned to the sovereign purpose of God. The fullness of the Spirit is the work of God for this present age.
Keep, then, continually the focus of your heart on Jesus!
How are we filled with the Spirit? In Ephesians 5: 18-20 Paul says:
«Do not get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery. On the contrary, be filled with the Spirit, speaking among yourselves with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music from the heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ «.
