GOD GIVES INNER PEACE.
Reading passage:- Psalms 4:8.
- will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
Sleep, something central to God's design for us. Yet millions find it hard to sleep. Part of the problem may be the lack of balance in a person's lifestyle, or simply the pressures of daily life "Sleep is as important as a healthy diet and exercise in terms of health and well being".
Yet more then half of the adults admit they are not getting enough sleep. Nearly 70 percent say they have troubles that make it difficult to sleep.
Every Christian should realize that the starting point for rest and sleep is through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Just think about the life of Jesus.
Without having or inviting Jesus into your life peace is far away from you, if at all you feel you can have peace outside God then you lie because it is just a temporary one perhaps due to money, wealth, houses, cars, achievement etc.
Remember I am not outrightly saying that wealth is bad but when you think you can get peace through it then you lie.
When crossing the sea of Galilee on a boat, He fell asleep, and remained asleep even though a storm raged all around. Terrified, the disciples were amazed that Jesus could sleep. When they woke Him, He simply " rebuked the wind and the raging waters ". He said to the disciples, " Where is your faith?". (Luke 8:22-25).
The Bible assures us that God wants us to have faith that He can give us peace and rest. He does not want us to be overwhelmed with problems, but wants to take away our burdens. He wants us to trust in Him and not be plagued with street or worry. Not to allow the uncertainties and pressures to dominate our lives.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27.
Isn't it encouraging? Isn't it assuring? God will never alter his word; if he said it then he will hasten it to perform in your life!
God promises to give You peace. If You have ever had trouble call on Him.
Remember His word: "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. (1st peter 5:7)
May God help us to run to Him when ever we are in need rather than running or seeking help from the world.

Only in Christ will we find a lasting peace. This is because he is the good sherpherd that will take us to the place of still waters.
