Solving the SBD "problem"
Here is my simple solution for SBD.
- Everyone hodl until $10
- Price mark 1 SBD as ten fiat dollars
- When we get bored of $10 mark, move it up and price mark each SBD as $100 or whatever
Easy peasy! We shouldn't let SBD lose value with the fiat dollar. We need to up the peg when necessary.
well lets do some quick maths as many peoeple will not hold
sell sbd at 0.00065000 sathoshies
and wait for btc to go at $15000
Boom there you have it your 1 Sbd = $9.75 ;)
0.00065000 * 15000 =9.75$
Well, as luring as this idea is, you can only peg something with fiat, if you got enough fiat to peg it with. Everything else would be called Tether. 😉
We can psuedo-peg. Or peg, then unpeg, and repeg. 😊
You could peg it to a real world asset instead of fiat; such as gold, silver, diamonds or the likes.

Yes you have a point here, holding increases the value of SBD as yet its value in our wallets... So it's a win win situation. I know the value of steem and SBD will rise and will be up to $17 in value by June. Hoping my analysis is right @dee-y over and out.
Maybe im missing some of the technical details but i dont see where the problem is. I know the original idea was to have it as a 1 dollar base currency but does this not help people having a higher value?
You've got it right. It will make steem much better choice if it will be done properly.

Certainly an interesting idea. But, I fear that the pumping entity controlling the markets has already shown its disregard for the peg, so we have no reason to believe that when the pumps are through, it won't drop back down to a dollar.
