Epidemic of Ignorance

Big city lights burning holes in my eyes
Concrete towers of doom crawling into the clouds
Filthy streets flooded with the blood of a poor man
This is business as usual
The smell of millions consuming their own souls
Consuming the earth one greedy bite at a time
Swallowing this sick system like a jagged pill
Never seems to fix anything, but we keep choking it down anyways
The lump in your throat growing as the illusion unfolds
Nothing left to wash it down nice, and easy anymore
Complacent cogs on their cellphones
Long black veils draped over their croning faces
Mourning over the creeping shadow of death, and destruction devouring the world
Digging themselves deeper, and deeper into the dark holes of humanity
And then one day they open their newborn eyes
Looking up at the world for the first time
They say "Where have all the flowers gone?"
