DRAPING BEAUTIES!!!

in #saree7 years ago (edited)

Hello guys,
Thats what saree is about . Everydin is covered, yet a peep of an ankle can be a turn on for men😁😂. Yes!!! My post for today is about the most simple yet tricky attire "the sarees" and their draping styles. The first thing that would pop up in our mind about Indian attires are the most elegant sarees wearing which no doubt the women look drop dead gorgeous. It is basically long piece of cloth that consists a drape of 5 to 9 yards in length and 2 to 4 feet in breath. The most common style of draping is the NIVI drape which is originated from the state of Andhra Pradesh which happened to be my native state.
I would share about the draping styles of the state of Karnataka of the southern part of India.

The nine yard tying style can look a bit messy but worn well it gives great freedom to the wearer.

In this style ,the pleats in the front are not tucked in but rolled outwards.

Worn by nomadic ceremonial performers in and aroumd Bidar(district) and Kalaburgi(district), one half of the sari is turned into an elegant trouser with the other half covering the torso.

This nine yard drape from Karnataka's indigenious tribe has pleats spread across the body like a skirt. The top portion is tied as in the coorgi style. Again , the accent is on comfort with the need for cumbersome blouses and petticoats.

Yeah!! That is me wearing the coorgi style saree. The most famous style from karnataka , Kodava women have the front pallu neatly tucked over the shoulder and pleats pushed backwards to get an elegant silhouette . It also makes it easy for them to traverse the hilly slopes of Kodagu(district).
There are many other styles of drapes for each state here in India and i would surely love to share them with you guys in my upcoming posts. I hope u enjoyed my post and feel free to comment below. I will see you all soon with my next post @caffienecoated
