SAMSUNG WANTS IN: new chips designed for CRYPTO?

in #samsung6 years ago

blockahain crypto.jpgSamsung is currently thriving in business. Recently overtaking intel as WORLDS BIGGEST CHIPMAKER. Regardless of that, Samsung is still expanding and taking on a new crypto project, making specific chips to mine crypto like bitcoin and ethereum.

These are called ASIC chips. ASIC chips are application specific integrated circuits. They are processors specifically designed for one single task. Unlike chips we use in our phone and computers which are multipurpose processors.

As the value of crypto increased so did the demand for these specific single task chips. Bitcoin is created by solving mathematical problems. That being said, as more are mined the math problems become increasingly more difficult. Which is why a single task chip makes this much easier. Many miners started with normal computers, moving to GPUS used by gamers, and now onto specifically designed ASICS.

That’s why many are thrilled Samsung has confirmed they are to starting to work on creating and providing more of these specific chips.

Will this new addition of hardware specifically designed for mining crypto continue to help Samsung to continue to succeed even more, or hurt it?

You beat me to it! I was about to post about this. I'm pretty excited for it myself. I have been GPU mining for more than a year but I haven't gotten into ASIC mining yet. I think i might just start with whatever product Samsung manages to put together.

I found you on Instagram, so I'm following you now :) I love discovering more chicks who are into crypto. There needs to be more of us!
