Credit Card Captains 🤦🏼♂️
Seriously?
Just another example of poor seamanship. I see this way to often. Some guy becomes a captain for the week simply because he has an amex and a rolex.
Did he honestly think it’s cool to anchor that close to another boat? Apparently the answer is yes.
What really boggles my mind is someone this unaware has a job that affords him the ability to shell out $7,000 a week for that cat.
Don’t EVER anchor this close to another vessel. Keep at least 100ft away.
I feel like that should be stupidly obvious... like even if you've never sailed a boat before, you'd understand that water is a moving thing and that boats don't just stay put exactly in place. Can't say it shocks me that someone super wealthy and probably out of touch would do that.
A change in wind direction, change of tides, or poor anchorage can easily make that boat swing and hit his so close neighbor.

Safe distance depends on a lot of things, including the depth, wind, forecast, awareness of the crew. In a dense anchorage, 100 feet between the boats can be a luxury. Though, I've experienced having to move because some neighbour anchored too close.
