Filecoin is a distraction from a REAL decentralized and fully anonymous file storage platform already in alpha.

Here's the REAL skinny ... MAIDSAFE, who raised less than 5% of this amount several years ago - one of the first ICO's ... is building (currently in alpha testing) a completely AUTONOMOUS, fully decentralized, fully ANONYMOUS file and app system [ SAFENet ], and, if there isn't enough noisy over-marketed competition, SAFENet will become the defacto standard NEXT INTERNET.
The powers-that-be are TERRIFIED of SAFENet because it will give people FULL anonymity and completely stifle all government censorship. It also will have a built-in crypto-currency [ SAFECoin ] that DOES NOT USE A BLOCKCHAIN - the only one of it's kind that can only exist because of the unique and autonomous nature of SAFENet. As SAFECoin has no blockchain, there is no means of tracking even anonymous accounts ... it is pure digital cash (also limited in amount like bitcoin, but even better as you cannot merely hard-fork SAFECoin to increase the supply as was done recently with bitcoin.) Oh, did I forget to mention that it can scale to millions of transactions per second? All other crypto's watch out.
Systems like Filecoin are being pumped by big corporations ... and will certainly get tons of flash marketing to draw people into their ecosystems - but they won't be anonymous ... the idea here is to keep you from getting involved in the alternative - SAFENet and finally breaking free from the control-freaks.
