Russian State Television Amps up Nuclear War Fears

Russian State-owned television station, Vesti 24, broadcast a puzzling segment advising citizens on how to properly stock up in the event of a pending nuclear war with the West. In one hand they seem to be mocking the West notating that fallout shelters sales have increased massively after the election of Donald Trump but on the other hand they are giving solid advice to Russian citizens in how to prepare in the event of an open war directly between the United States and Russia.

This all comes at a time when tensions in Syria are reaching a boiling point not seen before as many different countries and factions around the world put their troops and support behind different warring parties. It is estimated that over 350,000 people have died in the conflict as of April 2018 and the list of belligerents and supporters are long. Click for a live map of areas under control

The broadcast goes on to advise Russians on the smartest items to stock such as salt, sugar, rice, canned meats and most importantly water. At the same time, they caution against wasting money on sweets or pasta which when improperly stored will go bad. Beyond food, other practical advice is given on the storage of chemical luminescents (which don’t require power), medicine and iodine to protect against radiation.

Much of the bad blood with Russia is caused by the Fake & Corrupt Russia Investigation, headed up by the all Democrat loyalists, or people that worked for Obama. Mueller is most conflicted of all (except Rosenstein who signed FISA & Comey letter). No Collusion, so they go crazy!

Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War. There is no reason for this. Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race?

It’s difficult to ascertain if the news segment is meant to mock the West or truly warn the citizens of Russia to prepare for war but given it is a Kremlin-run channel it definitely implies that the potential for nuclear war is on the minds of Russia’s top leaders.
