I've reached the stage where I can run without thinking about running!
I think it's four years ago since I last felt it; running without thinking about how exhausting it is, how I feel a pain in my shin or knees, how I rather want to walk and I have to convince myself to run towards another tree or rock I see along the way...
During today's run my thoughts were drifting away, almost like I was daydreaming. It was such a pleasure, and in the middle of it I suddenly realized that I was running without thinking about running, I was in a flow and enjoying it! I was also thinking that I could run forever (but that stopped as soon as I started to run uphill).
I wasn't running fast, but I was running continuously, and I love how I can track my progress on Strava. Now my goal is to run a bit faster every time.
Here are some photos from my running path.
My stats on Strava:
As you can see I'm running pretty slow, but my goal is to run 5/km by the end of summer. A little elevation included in my run:
Now I'm actually looking forward to my next run. I love this feeling...
Thanks for reading !
:) Helen
You're doing great! Better start slow and slowly work to the pace you want to reach. No hurry 👍
Nice looking track you have for a run.
Thank you @guchtere! You are right, no hurry... I think it's very motivating to start slow and to see potential and improvement along the way. I'm very happy about the surroundings I can run in, it's so calm in the woods :)
Well as long as you don't expect improvements every run you'll be ok with thinking in that way ;)
But indeed it keeps people motivated while they get better and better 💪
Think I'm gonna share my runs on Steemit just like you. They keep getting better and better 😎
I don't expect improvements every run, but I want to see better results from week to week :)
Yes, share your runs on Steemit, it's fun to follow I think! I also find it motivating that I can share my progress and that gives me more motivation! Are you using Strava?
:)
Offcourse I'm using Strava. Well actually I'm using Movescount but it's linked to Strava.
I've added you @Strava
Fun! I've added you as well :)
Yeah! :D
Hi @helenmunch ,
have you ever thought about becoming a member of the @runningproject initiative?
If so, read the following post... by the end of it you will find instructions about.
Keep on running!
Yes, I would love to be a part of the @runningproject initative. I thought I was already... I can't see a link to the "following post" for instructions. Can you please give me the link?
Thank you! :)

Super framgang! Du har en ny følger på Strava. :)
Tusen takk! Så gøy, nå følger jeg deg også og gleder meg til å se progresjon hos begge :)
Ah, now I see all your posts on running! Great work! You are so blessed with all the nature over there! Also, the weather looks pretty awesome. I don't think I ever had the experience of forgetting that I was running. Now that I've started running again, this will be one of my goals :)
Do you have a GPS watch for recording your runs?
Thanks! Yes, the nearby nature definitely helps on the motivation to run! Like I've already written, I run pretty slow, maybe that's why I forget that I'm running, so my goal is to run faster and still have my thoughts drift away... I do have a Fitbit watch, but it doesn't work properly. In order to register on Strava I have my phone with me. Would love to have a working GPS watch in the future! What about yourself?
I had a Fitbit too, but it fell apart a few months back. My GF has a GPS watch that I used to use. But she is now in Paris for studies, so I can't use that atm. So yeah, I also have to bring my phone. It always feels a bit silly to bring it though :)
I know, but I've just figured out that a pair of my running pants have a perfect pocked in the back where my phone can be hidden and out of sight and not in the way.
well done Helen! :) Looking good! :)
