Russia to Legalize Crypto Plans to make a "Rucoin"
If my hunch is right, the Russian President Vladimir Putin might take the services of the Etherium creator Vitalik Buterin to make an official national currency for Russia. Of course the world would also trade and use that coin the moment it is up and running This is a very good development because it will stabilize further the cryptocurrency markets and help traders with a more calm markets.
Russian legislators are planning to set a meeting for the discussion about cyptocurrencies especially bitcoin while the central bank in the other hand to develop rules to curve illegal activities brought about transferring and laundering money via it's use.
Meanwhile, the plan to make "Rucoin" as Russia's national cryptocurrency could follow once legislation and the central bank acceptance could follow once things are ironed-out and indeed, the crypto world would be even more revitalized pretty soon.

I think there is really no point in national cryptocurrencies.
Maybe there is a reason behind it@nullpointer, we could just guess.

As bleak as things are, I think the russians are actually trying to improve their economy in a positive, progressive way, despite all the russiatrump nonsense...they might even adopt an ethereum. I heard peter thiel is very interested in ethereum, so its very likely....either way, good stuff!
