Perhaps a five-star hotel will be opened on board the International Space Station in 2022. Russia is planning to establish it.

Russia would like to invite tourists to space already before 2022. As it turns out, the space agency of this country, Roskosmos, intends to create a five-star hotel on board the International Space Station.

The hotel will have four private cabins, each with two cubic metres of surface area and windows overlooking the Earth. Your stay there will not be cheap - a week or two weeks spent at ISS will cost you 40 million dollars per person. Extending the visit to a month will cost an additional $20 million.

The hotel will also include a hall with a huge 16-inch window and two "hygienic and medical" stations. In this part of the ISS there will be no shortage of training equipment and Wi-Fi. Well, the hotel guests will not be bored. They will even have the opportunity to take part in a cosmic walk.

The module, which is to be created by the hotel will weigh 20 tons, have a length of 15.5 meters and provide 92 cubic meters of space. Its cost is expected to range from USD 280 million to USD 450 million. This amount will be covered by both public and private funding. RKK Energy, a Russian company which is the main supplier of spacecraft, rockets and space station components to the Russian space programme, wants to make a reservation for at least 12 passengers who would agree to pay approximately $4 million per person in advance.

RKK Energia estimates that it takes at least five years to build a tourist module, which means that if the work starts soon, it may be able to deliver it to the station in 2022.
