How to create an RSS feed for steemit, DIY: are there any steem specific rss services?steemCreated with Sketch.

I came across this question on reddit:

Every creator I follow has an RSS feed. I don't follow ones that don't, because to follow them requires met to A) Keep a tab open or B) Remember to check on them them or C) If they offer email updates, sub to them.
Those will never happen b/c I have too many tabs open in general, I don't remember to check, and my email is reserved for communications.
FYI, I literally forgot about Steemit's existence until someone I follow on Twitter posted an article.

First of all, what is RSS?

Rich Site Summary dates back to 1999 built by netscape as a protocol for media distribution.

A type of web feed[3] which allows users and applications to access updates to online content in a standardized, computer-readable format. These feeds can, for example, allow a user to keep track of many different websites in a single news aggregator. The news aggregator will automatically check the RSS feed for new content, allowing the content to be automatically passed from website to website or from website to user. This passing of content is called web syndication. Websites usually use RSS feeds to publish frequently updated information, such as blog entries, news headlines, or episodes of audio and video series. RSS is also used to distribute podcasts. An RSS document (called "feed", "web feed",[4] or "channel") includes full or summarized text, and metadata, like publishing date and author's name.

What solutions exist for steem users?

A search of RSS for steem on the steemit.com search engine provided me the following links, both providing DIY solutions:

First it seems that there have been steem RSS feeds in the past, but streemians seemed to have closed it's service. Setting up your own RSS feed is possible, but seems to be a bit tedious.

It's clear that helping bloggers to extend their audience is also in the self interest of steem.

RSS is an old, well understood protocol, and it is a really important tool for anyone publishing a blog as @mike314-0005 points out with many examples in his article on using RSS (worth a read for anyone wanting to extend their audience).

What do you know?

Are their any services that i'm missing? Are there other protocols that are widely used besides RSS? What are some other-ways steem can expand it's audience?

Thanks for this - Never occurred to me to add an RSS, as I don't generally use it.
