Cooper dropout not due to age.

A close advisor to Roy Cooper says neither age nor Mark Robinson becoming acting governor while out of the state were reasons for his withdrawal from the vice presidential race. Sounds like he wants to run for the Senate seat in 2026.

This is one of the few opportunities for a Senate flip in 2026 for Democrats. And it is entirely achievable. Cooper is quite popular in North Carolina.
