Roseanne... Ya Fired!!!
It was pretty dumb for Roseanne Barr to tweet racist comments on her Twitter account which blew up in the media like wildfire. Her show, which had made $45M already and was going to pay her $60M next year, was cancelled in a matter of days after people started #boycottABC. STOPIt's great to see the collective response to things like this now. The tides have well turned. It is a fascinating power dynamic that is emerging via social media and the pooling of voices to send clear messages about what is now, thankfully, unacceptable behaviour.
I wonder what celebrities who were influential in the not so distant past would've had their careers cut short from living in a digital age like we do now, exposing their lifestyle... Bill Cosby or Marlon Brando may have not had the career they did.
Right? That collective voice is certainly gaining some serious power.
