"The Magic of Thinking Big"
If you are familiar with new age concepts, self help books and improving yourself you have been witness at least once the magic power of words, words that have the background in our minds, and how they lead us to success if they are positively and goal-oriented.
Every time i go in a library i have this Game that i play: i put a question and just randomly choose different books in need for answers, does somebody else played this Game before? :)
What i opened today was "The Magic of Thinking Big" of David J. Schwartz - 1959. This books has laid the foundation of motivational and self help books by explaining people how success is not primarily a matter of circumstances or native talent or even intelligence - it is a choice. And it's all up to you. David Joseph Schwartz was an American motivational writer and coach.
I opened the book to a story that was telling us how we have two foreman that are supervising our thoughts and he called them Mister Triumph and Mister Defeat. Mister Triumph is responsible with positive thinking, always present when you have a good day and find new reasons to become even better and on the other side there is Mister Defeat which is the bad guy that always give arguments that lead you to fail. Now the trick is that both this guys are very
undergoing to every little thought and is enough to say "oh today is such a bad day", just because it's raining outside, and Mister Defeat will come with ten other different reasons that may holding you from actually improving and changing something in your mood. I really liked this way of explaining why we should always be positive and that a very simple rule may be what you need in the journey for a better life.
I am as we speak trying to implement this new concept and stay focused on which side i choose. So tell me,
ho do you pick up most often?
Thank you for reading my post and stay tuned, tomorrow will be chocolate recipe day :)
Quotes:
"Believe Big. The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief. Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. Remember this, too! Big ideas and big plans are often easier -- certainly no more difficult - than small ideas and small plans."
"Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not superhuman. Success does not require a super-intellect. Nor is there anything mystical about success. And success doesn't based on luck. Successful people are just ordinary folks who have developed belief in themselves and what they do. Never -- yes, never -- sell yourself short."
"Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution."
"How we think shows through in how we act. Attitudes are mirrors of the mind. They reflect thinking."
"There is a good side to every situation."
"The success combination in business is: Do what you do better... and: Do more of what you do..."
"Do what you fear and fear disappears."
Great Story
