Memoirs of A Geisha Poem
My Memoirs Of A Geisha/Geisha Of Gion Poem!
A poem about Nitta Sayuri and The Chairman in Memoirs of a Geisha.
The search has been so very long,
My journey has taken me through right and through wrong.
I have longed that this day would come to pass,
That you would finally see me at last.
As a young girl I would sit alone and mourn,
Remembering my family, just wishing I were never born.
A memory burned into my innocent mind,
Was how you sat down and comforted me,
how you were so kind.
You wiped away the tears that stained my cheeks,
Tears that had meant to be released for quite some weeks.
Taking my hand you bought me a treat,
You said “Frowns are unbecoming on a girl so sweet.”
A gentle smile and you walked away,
And I continued on with my day.
The promise that I would find you again,
Was something a bit above my head back then.
Over the years time passed by so fast,
But the memory of you still seemed to last.
Sometimes in my sleep I would look back and think,
Maybe in sleep our hearts will somehow link.
Then one day when I was practicing geisha song and dance,
You saw me and seemed to be lost in a trance.
In silence you remembered that little girl,
who sat alone and seemed lost in this world.
Eventually you pulled me aside,
And shared with me the feelings you had continued to hide,
The reality was that you wanted me to be forever by your side.
