You didn't want a dozen red roses

Or a box of chocolates

No cards or balloons

No cute stuffed animals

All you wanted was me

I wanted to see you smile

I wanted to hold your hand

I wanted to hear your voice

When I said I loved you - 

Because I always will

You didn't want a candle lit dinner

Or champagne bubbles

No diamonds or jewels

No expensive perfumes

All you wanted was for me to be true

I wanted to hug you close

I wanted you to fall asleep in my arms

I wanted to wake up next to you

"Forever,"  plus three days -

and a frog and 5 cheesy puffs ((cuz forever may not be long enough, we joked))

 You didn't want a string quartet

Or a midnight carriage ride

No music or fireworks

Just me to love you faithfully

I too, could care less about material things

I had all I wanted and needed

Now the "forever" and three days are gone

The frog has lept back into the pond and the cheesy puffs melted in the rain

All I wanted was you

Not a lifetime of missing you

And it's unbearable pain ...
