RollerCoin and "the how to" of the 2048 Coin game

RollerCoin, the browser game where you simulate mining crypto currencies while actually getting crypto currencies. It is a bit meta I know, but I like it.

Here I will focus on the 2048 Coins game. And if you are anything like me this is one of those games you never ever play. Well until the season's daily rewards dictate you need to play 15 games in order to get those sweet exp.

I found that the early games were fairly easy to beat. But very fast I found myself running out of time more often than I was able to complete the game. This got me thinking about what the goal of the game is. Unlike the many app versions of the game this game does not have the goal of getting the highest score possible. Instead in this game you win when you get enough coins worth of mergers. Each merger gives you a coin based on its level of merged coins. This actually makes this a completely different game altogether. They may look the same and use the same mechanisms. But the goals of the games are completely different.

So in order to be able to complete the goal of 2048 Coins you need to get as many coins as possible into the game as fast as possible. And why would you need to do this you might ask. It is completely the opposite of the app version where you instead can take time, plan and then execute the move that will benefit you the most.

Well there are two things that make getting as many coins into the game as fast as possible a good idea. The first is that this version of the game has a fixed amount of time. If you do not get enough coins within the allotted time you lose. The second is that you do not really care if the game becomes clogged with a bunch of coins that can't match up. This is because your goal is not to get as high a score as possible. But to get a certain score before the time runs out.

So how do you go about getting as many coins onto the board as possible. It is simple. On a computer you just simply spam the arrow keys. I usually go in a crinkle, up, left, down, right and repeat. And I press as fast as the game allows me to. If you play on a phone you simply swipe in the same pattern.

This allows you to get as many coins and as many free mergers as possible. On the lower levels this should be all you need to do in order to finish the game. When the difficulty increases you will have to swap from spamming the arrow keys, to looking at the screen and trying to do the best merges you can.

This is because as the coin requirements increase the more you need to make coins of a higher level merge in order to get as big of a reward as possible. This usually does not require that much work in order for you to complete the 15 games required to get the exp reward.
