“I have come here just after seeing the hungry,
distressed, and hopeless Rohingyas from Myanmar.
We are currently sheltering over 800,000 forcibly displaced
Rohingyas from the Rakhine State of Myanmar.”
She also demanded to create ‘Safe Zones’ in Myanmar for these ethnic people and also said “Myanmar is forcibly driving out the Rohingya Muslims through a planned and organised process. First, they were excluded from the list of recognized ethnic groups of Myanmar. Then in 1982, they were denied their right to citizenship. Later, they were sent to IDP camps in their own country. We want to see an end to the ‘ethnic cleansing’.”
