Since August 2017, about a quarter of a million Rohingya people, a Muslim minority that Burma does not officially recognise as citizens, were forced to flee across the border to Bangladesh amid allegations of ethnic cleansing by Burmese forces. More than 688,000 of these refugees have reached Cox's Bazar, a district in southeast Bangladesh.
