From Charleston's flapper girl atmospheres typical of the Roaring Years, to folk flapper girls, with a vaguely tribal accent by Jil Sander, for spring-summer 2018 the designers reread one of the main trends of the past, skilfully combining it with new graphisms and modern lines.

After all, just take a look at the international platforms to see that the fringes have made the lion's share, earning an exceptional place among the key trends of the summer season. Venerated by fashion victims, invised by purists of minimalism, the fringes 2.0 can give movement and body to the silhouette, without exaggerating. Like the woman dashed by Ferragamo, a subtle figure with eclectic elegance, wrapped in a flood of fringes.

Anthony Vaccarello, on the other hand, focuses on his legs, who runs a river of fringes from Saint Laurent on sandals and knee boots. Reading like feathers, they give movement to the figure, succeeding in imprinting a rock print on the codes of the Parisian maison. The creations by Olivier Rousteing, who from Balmain stretches the edge of his minidress with extra-large fringes in black and white. And if Versace plays with the volumes of skirts, winking at country atmospheres, a triumph of fringes also won the acclaim of Calvin Klein and Alexander Wang.

Extremely versatile, the new fringes combine with everything. As a portal? Those who prefer clean shapes can play with accessories and hot palettes such as beige, chestnut, ecrus. Always admitted the total black. Clear green light instead with highlighter shades and excessive lengths for those who love to dare. Eye, however, to the dense wefts and super short fringes: the risk is to significantly increase the volume of the dress giving the impression of dressing an extra size. The makeup? Try the extra-large format: in addition to slendering the figure, the flood of ribbons tends to mask the softer shapes.
