Fueling the AI & Robotics Future - KAMBRIA
The continuous advancement of technology has greatly impacted every form of human life, varying from how we communicate, interact, learn, educate, think, live, travel, to how we buy and sell products. This can be attributed to the ever-increasing demand and lifestyle change of the human nature.
Also, business organizations have benefited from technological advancements. It has helped most organizations save time and operational costs, as most business processes and operations which were previously manual, are not automated. With the advent of artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and cloud computing, organizations are now able to create applications that will help design new models to operate and manage business operations. For example, Amazon, which happens to be the largest online retailer, built an automated warehousing system where robots work alongside humans to fulfil customers’ orders. Also, one of the leading African bank, UBA, recently launched an artificial intelligence personality called LEO, to allow customers make use of their social media accounts for banking activities such as account opening, send money, etc.
According to research, the robotics sector which is approximated at about $80 billion, has been predicted to witness rapid growth in the coming years. In spite of this technological disruptions, the current technology industry is in dire need of an ecosystem whereby exciting robotics and AI start-ups’ can easily connect with investors. Several factors plaguing the current ecosystem includes:
- A paucity of good interfaces and abstraction layers for software, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Start-ups’ find it difficult to access funds due to the inclusion of middlemen such as the government and financial institutions, in the transaction process
- start-ups’ who have been granted funding fail to accomplish and meet up with pre-defined conditions and KPIs set before the funds were given.
- A paucity of required tools and semantics
- Tax deduction from funds required for start-up’s
- Lack of adequate infrastructure, development tools, and platforms to enhance innovation
- Not easy to use platforms developed by manufacturers which in turn affects the development
It is therefore evident that the current industry is in need of an enabling ecosystem that will address these issues because robotics is still in motion to interlope with the general innovation process. This ecosystem can be achieved with the utilization of blockchain technology due to its immutable, transparent, secure, and decentralized nature.
With the use of blockchain technology, start-ups’ will easily access funding provided by investors at a much lower cost with no middleman input. Due to its immutable nature, investors and start-up’s will have the capacity to track, manage and utilize their resources. Also, if a particular start-up is unable to accomplish predefined KPIs, blockchain has the capacity to enable investors to collect their funds and re-channel it to more worthy start-ups’.
In the bid to revitalize the current ecosystem and address the current challenges, Kambria aims to leverage on blockchain technology to provide an enabling environment that will enable developers easily build robots. It aims to provide a decentralized platform that will foster development in the robotics ecosystem. A collective environment that ensures that the development of advanced technologies is easy, swift, cheap and provides value to the end users for mass adoption.
Kambria aims to provide a friendly ecosystem for developers, organizations and manufacturers. As for developers, Kambria will provide them with tools, low-cost cutting-edge technologies and environment needed for them to thrive on, and organizations can easily leverage on the pool of talents in the Kambria platform to develop tailored applications for their business use.
KAMBRIA PLATFORM
The Kambria platform comprises five different components namely; Code Base (KDNA), innovation marketplace, manufacturing alliance, value capture and legal enforcement. Each of these components has their specific function. Below briefly highlights the components of the Kambria platform.
KDNA
The CodeBase which is the DNA of the Kambria platform is the core module management and the build system of the platform. It crosses the I’s and dot the t’s during the buildup or development of a robot. Each of the modules serves as a Git repository that can be hosted on any cloud services and the modules can be easily registered and connected to the Code Base via a publicly-accessible URL that connects with the Git repository, and a distinctive name. In essence, the core of the Kambria's platform comprises of the open source codebase, competent language and easy to use dev tools.
Innovation Marketplace
The innovation marketplace is a hub that ushers in new technologies on the platform, such that if a person or organization requires a certain technology, they can always make use of the innovation marketplace to look for specialists that can help provide the needed solutions. In such situation, the person or organization needing the technology can decide to use the KAT token to submit a bounty openly in order to outline the terms and conditions of the project. Once this has been submitted to the marketplace, it will be locked via a smart contract. Specialists will have the capacity to join any bounties and can bid on them. However, they will stake some certain amount of the KAT tokens.
Manufacturing Alliance
As part of Kambria's goal to provide an open collaborative robotics ecosystem, the manufacturing alliance on the platform will drive this.
The manufacturing alliance will provide an environment that enables collective partnerships with several big manufacturers in the sector, in order for them to share knowledge, resources and sustain APIs.
Value Capture
This enables Kambria to record any value that has been created on the platform. Through the value capture, Kambria aims to ensure it has a full representation of the lifecycle of a robot right from when it was manufactured to when it's completely sold. As such, Kambria decided to capture robots as at when it is manufactured, when it is sold or leased out, and when it executes a value-adding task
Legal Enforcement
This is to ensure that the collaborative work of all the respective stakeholders in the ecosystem are duly protected by ensuring that everyone is compliant and there are no violators of the Kambria license.
Benefits of Kambria
- Users are incentivized and rewarded for contributing to the platform
- A more open and collaborative robotics ecosystem
- A transparent, fair, and secure environment for robotics related transactions
- Developers will be adequately equipped with the required toolset needed to effectively build robots
- Organizations can make use of specialists on the platform to build custom applications.
Some use cases of Kambria
- It Provide Fast, Cheap and Easier Robotic Development: The platform will help to provide a seamless, fast and cheap means of robotics application. This will help increase profitability for companies.
- Voice and Text Chat: There will be a live chat between members and developers for easy communication means.
- Crypto Wallet: With its cryptocurrency wallet, everyone can have access to so many things that will ensure easy payments of goods and services through the blockchain. The wallet will allow everyone to have the opportunities of having the right access to the product information.
- Peer-to-Peer payments: There will be provision for the means of sharing business profit between any members on the platform.
- Access to popular News: There will be a means of information for members to allow them having an informed decision about the platform.
Token
The Kambria token (KATT) will be the driving force of the platform. It will be issued in the form of an ERC20 token and will function as a multi-utility token that will be used to fuel the Kambria platform.
Total tokens: 5,000,000,000
Token symbol: KATT
Platform: Ethereum
