Road to Steemfest #9: Fears!
Wow can you believe it! Steemfest Bangkok is only a couple weeks away! This is a time where emotions start creeping in and they can range all over the place from pure excitement to extreme fear! That is what this Road to Steemfest blog post is about FEAR!
Anyone who has been following my blog for some time would probably assume I've had to push fears to the side to be traveling for over 16 years. Fear often comes with the unknown. Fear often is served up with some culture shock. Fear can arise when doing something you have never done before. Fear can come from social anxiety. Fortunately for me I have never been a fearful person.
Making things even easier, Thailand is a country that I've been visiting for for the past 15 years and I'm very familiar with it. I love the country, so no fear just pure happiness and excitement. I seldom get culture shock anymore and it certainly won't be happening in a country I've spent so much time in.
In fact I'm very much looking forward to spending another winter in Thailand. But this time I've got a great travel companion to go with. We made plans to head down to the island of Koh Phagnan after the party. We just booked this sweet luxury resort at an incredible price of just 18 dollars a night. It's on the west coast of the island, the sunset coast at the Haadyao Bayview Resort and Spa. So I'm super thrilled about not only steemfest but this winter in general. This will be my third consecutive winter in Thailand. Life is goooood!
As far as the actual party. No anxiety there either as i went to steemfest last year in Poland and had the time of my life. One big drinking, eating, and socializing event with other members of steemit! Count me in! But this time with warm weather and a swimming pool! Are you kidding me, I'm all about it! And I'll have my beautiful French Girlfriend with me; it's going to be a great time! So I have no fear, that does me no good, that doesn't do anyone any good.
Those with a little life experience know that fear is the thing that keeps people down, stuck in the mud, prevents you from living your dreams and your true potential. Fear can be debilitating, irrational, and down right destructive. So anyone feeling anxiety or fear regarding coming to Thailand or Steemfest in general, I say....Do not worry! Thailand is awesome! Steemfest is awesome! We are all going to have an amazing time!

Hi Dan @world-travel-pro - stopping by to tell you I won the conference fee, so I am full on in now. I got a hostel walking distance to Hua Lumpong Station and two stops on the direct cheap bus from the Prince Palace so all is good.

Wow! That is great! Congratulations! So much looking forward to hanging out again! We certainly have some catching up to do :)
I'm staying just off of Koh San Road this time with my girlfriend. Just thought it would be a little more of a "fun" area to be this time around.
I'm just there one day before and one day after Steemfest, then heading down to Koh Phagnan for a month or more for some serious rest and relaxation.

There is a travelfeed meetup Monday night on a bar somewhere if you want to come to that and you can.
With all the different venues, I wanted to be close to an mrt or bts, so I can walk to it. This is insane how much travelling around the city. The people who have never been there have no idea, lol. And they need to take the canal boat during morning rush if they are at the hotel!
I'm really thrilled to make it and see you, meet everyone, and do my networking. If we get any type of price rise before these guys kill the place, I am good :)
Hey Sharron! Sorry for the late reply. Been busy making up for lost time with my Dad in Florida. Leaving early tomorrow morning from here to Bangkok. Long long journey but I'm excited about it.

Wow that's nice that you have no fear for this upcoming trip! I'm still looking for what I might fear for this trip and i will write about it if i find one, but other than that, I'm just excited for Steemfest and Bangkok!
