Road Accidents

The question I ask myself everyday is Why the increasing rate of Road accidents In Ghana?
And Why always link Road accidents to withcraft rather than finding expedient solutions in order to curb such menace to our society.
Casting our minds back are some of our great celebrities who lost their lives through road accidents. Through God's intervention some were saved though they were involved in tragic accidents . Should we continue blaming it on family witches? No, we can't always blame it on them rather find measures to help alleviate such tragic acts.I think the government must tackle these important areas.
First the government must provide quality roads.Our ditches on roads are major cause of road accidents and as a matter of urgency the government should ensure poor roads are being constructed well and well tarred.
Secondly, government should provide adequate road signs at every point and educate drivers on the usefulness of all road signs and apply them .
Government should also provide adequate and loyal security personnnels at every check point to ensure safe driving and prosecute drivers who fail to comply to the rules and regulations of the DVLA.
Also, DVLA must ensure individuals go through the requisite driving test before the issuance of driving license and avoid issuance of driving license through illegal means . The corrupt minds of our leaders are killing us and we call on anti-corruption agencies like Cmac , EOCO etc to come on board to pursue those corrupt leaders for prosecution.
All these need funding , hence government should allocate adequate funds to carry out this exercise.
Not forgetting the construction of foot bridges. I will urge the government to construct foot bridges where necessary and not to leave them abandoned. It should be constructed where most individuals use and not constructed long metres away from where it will be useful.
Individuals can also play a major role in order to alleviate Road accidents. We must ensure every necessary road signs and apply it.
We must avoid drinking whiles driving .let's follow the rule " If you drink don't drive and If you drive don't drink".
Also we must ensure we undergo proper driving test before the receipt of driving license and avoid receipts of license through illegal means .
To draw the curtains down let's come together as one and help alleviate road accidents. .Lets Save our Families, Friends,and Love ones for a better Ghana.
