Why is key to take risks in order to grow in life?

Commodity is awesome in life. When you have everything you basically need you just build your comfort zone and most times you just stay there for almost your entire time. But, when you suddenly come up with a dream, objective or goal, you develop a completely new perspective of life about what your priorities are. You don't need to be hugely ambitious to make billions or trillions of dollars in revenue, but you can change the way you live. We live in a global society where you can possibly start building a side-hustle as an emergency fund, or to get to a point where you can work from wherever you want, to get to a point where you feel like you can survive by your own means.

To be serious and to not think this is as easy as it sounds, you need to mainly develop three big skills that are going to determine your possible results in order to have a chance:

  1. Discipline. This is probably the main one of all. Without discipline, you don't know where you are headed to, and so you can't make decisions that will result beneficious in the long run for yourself. I don't see discipline as the simple of action of just following a certain code of behaviour or rules, but instead, to be self-controlled in order to take that big leap that can entirely change the game as we see it.
  2. Commitment. While discipline is focused on the long run, commitment is that short-term, day-to-day habit you develop to build a foundation that you can trust in order to stay confident with what you want, and act accordingly.
  3. Fear as a power engine. Let's be clear. Without any doubts, even if you developed the right mindset, follow the previous-mentioned steps and have your goals well defined, if you don't take action, it will never happen. I have talked with so many people that had dreams that could benefit them physically, mentally and spiritually, but they didn't have, maybe guts or energy, to start doing what they wanted. Without any doubt, the biggest weakness we all have is laziness, that will always play by our side in short-term periods, but that will never be useful when trying to accomplish long-term objectives or accomplishments.

Always compare yourself with your own past self and not others when coming to measure your progress, as any of us is the same and your first chapter is not comparable with other people chapters.

No risks, for sure no rewards. If you try different things, you will increase your chances of winning for the long run.
So just try once, and it doesn't need to be the biggest and toughtest challenge, but just to prove that it can be easier than what you at first expercted.

Cheers,
Feli
