Solana has been down many times and it stands as one of the biggest and most successful projects in cryptosphere. Continuous building and user + developer onboarding can propel a project to the stratosphere. Recently HIVE-Engine faced an attack which was eventually managed by the witnesses of HIVE-Engine. Due to the feeless nature of HIVE, it is not very expensive to create such an attack without spending too much money. We should have fixed these vulnerabilities a long time ago. At least things are in a far better shape at the moment.

Funds were never at risk and this event could be treated as a security research paid paid by the inconvenience of the community. It is better to fail fast and learn fast before going mainstream. I genuinely do believe that HIVE can go mainstream with the power of gaming + microblogging combo. This has been my HIVE onboarding thesis for a long time. What we have not seen so far is enough marketing funds being thrown at this idea. At this stage, getting a user to try out DAPPs is far more important than creating brand recognition on a broad scale.

When we have new users joining DAPPs, we can use the data to figure out what would work and what helps with users retention (and what drives them away). INLEO copying the UI/UX of X (Twitter) takes a shortcut by piggybacking on what has been proven to work on hundreds of millions of Daily Active Users.

Cards Disappeared for Many Users

I had built my Collection over 4 years of playing the game and engaging with the community. There used to be many Card giveaways and I can recall myself conducting some giveaways myself. After taking a look at the Discord Channel, I figured out that many others are facing the same problem.

Imagine something similar happening on a Web 2 game. The data many only exist in a centralized server and if the company goes out of business due to financial hardships, all the years of building a Collection could easily go down the drain. On top of that, the game company will have full access to our assets and the database of all user activity. If they want, they could edit the database. We don't have the same level of risk when dealing with a blockchain game. Even other forms of DLTs such ash DAGs should be able to pull off the same.

Part of My Progress Disappeared

Instead of doing nothing, I tried clicking on a few things. Once the Cards came back up, I thought I had to unlock the the other parts of the Map again. I did the old Missions thinking that would unlock County Tour.

I Had Forgotten How to Advance

The truth is that I was missing a Band Members. I had forgotten that I had to go through this process few years ago when I grew too big for the Local Gig Circuit. I had to do some reading to figure out that I had to manage my Band.

I had not edited my Band in a long time. It must have been years. I made this an opportunity to make things better. I would like to request a way to filter the Cards at least based on rarity. It was a real hassle to go through the Collection and figure out which are the good ones. I many have even left out some of my best Cards out of the Band. It looks as following after the edits.

A County Tour After Few Days

It is great to see things back to normal after a few days. If a player had joined the game during the last few days, they many not have stuck around to explore what we have built on HIVE. The hardcore believers didn't leave. Increasing the number of long term community members is a difficult task. The social media aspect is great for times like this. As long as the Layer 1 is working, users get to interact with many users from around the world and earn some cryptocurrency while they are at it.

There are many Tokens to be earned and the game itself does not take much time compared to most other games. Do not consider this a job or side hustle. Think of @risingstargame as any other game. If you are not interested in games or living a busy life, forget about all of this. Games should not be a chore. All I'm doing is inviting you to spend some of your gaming time to take a look at what Web 3 can offer on a feeless blockchain.

Think of those Tokens as a bonus and you will have a better time on blockchain. We are moving towards better times. It is time for us to build and foster our own decentralized communities with our own values.
